So some real life role-playing.

A magical portal opens and you personally end up in Faerun. You're getting sent out on patrol into the wilderness for a month. You get to share a donkey with 5 others for carrying stuff.

Before being sent out.

1. 6 weeks of dieting/physical training.

2. 6 weeks of weapons training

What weapons and equipment do you personally choose? You can take the 5E phb starting equipment while on patrol or assume an average roll on the money table and buy what you want.

Whatever you pick you have to wear it, carry it and use it. You retain any skills you currently have IRL.
