wow, this is an amazing response! much better than i'd hoped for. thank you all very very much for the input.

i just wanted to make an addition to the rules (i'll update the first post accordingly). because of the volume of submissions, i, and very likely my gaming group, will be picking our favourites from the complete list, and those will be voted on buy the EN World populace. i'm not going to limit myself to a specific number of entries, i'm just going to try to get the number to a managable figure to give the votes weight.

once again, thank you all

Cool idea. Good luck with your product!

How about:

Auto-Turn Device (AT Device)

Tracking Device

Initiative Device (ID)

Combat Machine (every DM/GM needs a CM)

(I apologize in advance if any of my submissions are already taken....but I tried not to duplicate :) )

Good luck everyone!

Some more (Still can't sleep :) )

Turn Keeper (TK)

Fast Track

Quick Kill(ing) Machine

Lightning Round(s)

I'm about tapped out.....I saw some pretty good names on this list. Should be a hard choice :)

You can't use "Improved Initiative", eh? Too bad. That is really a clever name, since it not only incorporates the name of the (rather ubiquitous, IMHO) feat, but it succinctly describes what your product does. And it's a better name than all the alternatives I've seen offered here, so far.

Hmm... Are you *sure* you can't use "Improved Initiative"?

So, if I were to produce a supplement containing variant combat rules and options for use with individual melee and missile weapons in 3E D&D, I couldn't call my supplement "Weapon Finesse"... ?

Improved Initiative was MY idea. Yes, I felt the need to say that. Thanks Azlan for your vote of confidence.
but alas, they says no. But Neg Z is lucky, I named it BEFORE the disclaimer.

so here's my latest attempt(s).

IQ: Initiative Quickened

or maybe

IQ: Iniitiatve Queue

or even

IQ: Initiative Quest

"The Merry-Go-Round"

Pay close attention to definition 2...

From Webster.com:

1 : an amusement park ride with seats often in the form of animals (as horses) revolving about a fixed center
