Continuing your campaign or starting fresh?

Once 4th Edition comes out, do you anticipate continuing your campaign in 3.5, starting a new 4e campaign or converting your existing campaign to 4e?

I'm not really sure yet about my games; with 3.5 we started a new campaign and then eventually converted the epic game to 3.5. Maybe- probably- we'll do something similar when 4e comes out.

I'm running a Star Wars Saga game right now, which SHOULD have wrapped up long before the PHB and MM1 come out (I'm not sure what role the DMG will fill this time; in 3e it was pretty much necessary).

Previously, I planned on using the Saga rules for an Ivalice game after that, but my slate of work-related gaming has changed since then and I probably won't have time to do that in the foreseeable future.

So, if I run a 4e campaign any time around its release, it will definitely be from scratch. :)

Continuing my campaign, which may or may not be converted. We're going to run Shadowfell when it comes out to see what everyone thinks. (I'm betting on conversion.)

I've already eMailed my friends to let them know about my upcoming new 4e campaign! Seriously, I'm going with a clean break and will try to create a campaign that embraces 4e instead of contending with it.

My current campaign will (hopefully) be over by then. If I ever run another campaign with those same characters, I will most likely work with the players to rebuild them using 4E rules (which may be easier with the more standardized level 1-30 rules, since they're level 20 now).

When 4e comes out I'm just going to start another 3.5 campaign. Theres enough material out there to last me until 5e. I've got to finish my Savage tTde campaign, then the next two Pathfinder APs, Castle Whiterock from Goodman Games, years worth of Dungeon Magazine adventures. And thats not including stuff from Necromancer and Green Ronin.
I don't think I'll be playing 4e anytime soon.

Here's my road map:

Finish Age of Worms (3.5E)
Run MnM campaign
Run WFRP campaign
Run either Pathfinder, Savage Tide or War of the Burning Sky (3.5E)
Run one of the two I didn't run in the previous campaign (3.5E)
Check out 5E

Start New

I know what you're saying. You're saying, "But, Doc. You ain't got no campaign to continue!"

That's not entirely true. I was thinking of restarting my old one (which is why I suddenly looked back at Eeee NNnnn World about a couple of weeks ago.

Lo and Behold, 4e was staring me in the face. As such, I decided to hold off until it came out (WoW is holding us for now).

Keep on the Shadowfell looks very interesting and will picking it up as soon as it is available.

when 4e was anounced, I was pretty sure I would restart with a new campaign as I'm 100% sure that me and my players will play 4e or no more D&D at all.
(Not because 3e is bad, thats just the way I allways did it, I like to be up to date)

BUT

I have a fantastic campaign running right know... my personal reimagination of the GDQ series and I do not want to abandon that... so, there is two options for me:

If the current campaign is nearly finished next summer (I gues this time I will wait till the MM is out before playing a new ed, with 3.0 that was not the case) I will just run it till its over and convert then... if we are still as thrilled about it as know, I will ask others in my group for a short (2-3 month) campaign to help us figuring out the new rules and convert after that.

I do not think it would be a good idea to start playing a game at 14th level...
