Continuing your campaign or starting fresh?

Starting fresh.

Until then, I'm...

1) DM'ing an ongoing 3.5e campaign.
2) Playing in an ongoing 3.5e campaign.
3) GM'ing a Star Wars Saga edition campaign.

All three of these will likely come to a natural conclusion around mid-late next year, so timing is good...

The campaign I run will probably stay 3.5, not from any 4ed hate (I'm looking forward to it), but because we started the game with a specific list of sources and such and will probably just carry through.

The game I play in, which is actually a set of interlocked campaigns that's been going since the '90s, is roughly planning to switch about 6 months after the FR stuff comes out, though the DM and some players are strongly anti-4ed.

I will most likely run a number of multi-session adventures in 4ed when it comes out at my FLGS, and/or find ones to play in. I'm looking forward to 4ed and want to try it out.

Cheers,

convert

we'll be converting the current campaign over.

it may take some house rules for a couple of the characters and we do have a bard and a barbarian in the party (and a couple planescape races...special races from the planes), so those will maybe need to follow the 3.5e version with a few custom rules for stuff and removing stuff that isn't needed (iterative attacks, etc)...

Planes, I use a semi custom cosmology anyways, and some modifications from 4E i like and the ones I don't, I will just update a bit as I like.

overall, it can be done...just will take some time on my part...

Once 4th Edition comes out, do you anticipate continuing your campaign in 3.5, starting a new 4e campaign or converting your existing campaign to 4e?

Considering a time window of 6 months after the release:

Continuing 80%
Starting new 20%
Converting 0%

Then after 6 months I guess my campaign will be at a point where it will make sense to retire the characters, so the % will be different. The other DM in which game I'm playing will probably push to convert, and the third DM may take a hiatus from DMing for a while anyway.

Priority one: Finish the Age of Worms. We're currently wrapping up "Prince of Redhand" so that's prolly a given
Priority two: Run Spycraft 2.0. Probably a hypermodern military game.
Priority three: Scion

Then, and only then will at look at running 4E

I'll finish my campaign in 3.5, then start a new campaign in 4e.
Ditto. Depending on what's available from 4E at that point, I may play another 3E campaign before making the switch (assuming 4E is worth making the switch...).

I'm playing in one campaign and running another (two entirely different groups)

Both groups will be starting over with fresh new campaigns.
