Conversions of old spells and magic items?

That's one of the things I like about you, BOZ - when you do something, you don't go half-way. That's a heck of a list! :)

This thread's been up for a week or so, so I'm going to slide this over to Conversions. When I finally get the rest of my D&D books unpacked in the next month or so, I'll definitely contribute; hopefully we'll keep a critical mass going!

Just remembered - the Jester had a thread months back with about two dozen converted spells, mostly Time domain, IIRC. I'll search for it & post a link.

There will probably be other 1E and 2E sources that I’d be working with, but I’m not sure what those are at this time. I’ll probably be avoiding world-specific spells for now (Forgotten Realms, Dark Sun, Spelljammer, etc) as well as those that only appeared in a module or Dragon magazine. That may change.

There are several that were module-only spells (Murlynd's Void and Murlynd's Ogre from EX1 for example), as well as some strong differences in some of the versions of the spells (compare the consequences of casting Negative Plane Protection on the Negative Material Plane itself in the version from Dragon 58 vs. UA, for example...).

i have an old list of spells, that was actually a working list for the Wizards Spell Compendiums. it was fairly comprehensive, but unfortunately it's in MSWorks format - which i don't have on my computer anymore. would anyone be willing to transfer that onto Excel for me? :)

Can't XL read that, too? I think it can read that, too, or import it.
