Converting Epic Level Creatures

So we need Quicken Spell first. If we give it 3 Auto-Quickens, that would take up a lot of the remaining feats. I guess the question is what other feats we have in mind. (We aren't running out of epic feat slots, are we?) Blinding Speed seems almost unfair and therefore necessary. :p Empower, Maximize, and Instensify Spell seem interesting, and we've already mentioned Epic Spellcasting. So we don't quite have room for all that...

We can easily cut out Great Fortitude, Lightning Reflexes and/or Iron Will if we want to free up some feats - they don't really need the +2 to saves. The +4 from the Epic versions of those feats will help console it.

Absolutely. If we need even more, I'd cut Epic Fortitude followed by Epic Will as well. It only has "poor" saves in Reflex.

I think cutting the standard save-boosting feats should give us enough Metamagic feats. If you want more, just use an Advanced Draeden. The 101 HD are the weakest ones, little more than babes. The majority of Draeden are far more powerful than them.

In that case, what are we going with? All the ones I mentioned?

Okay, eliminating the unwanted feats from Shade's original list:

Cleave
Devastating Critical (bite)
Great Cleave
Improved Critical (bite)
Overwhelming Critical (bite)
Power Attack
Power Critical
Weapon Focus (bite)

Great Fortitude
Lightning Reflexes
Iron Will

Epic Fortitude
Epic Reflexes
Epic Will

Improved Initiative
Superior Initiative

Combat Expertise
Improved Trip
Knock-Down
Superior Expertise

Epic Prowess
Improved Sunder
Epic Sunder

Combat Reflexes
Improved Combat Reflexes
Hold the Line
Spellcasting Harrier

Chaotic Mind
Hostile Mind

Total: 24 feats.

Remainder: 10 feats

Our additions so far:

Improved Unarmed Strike
Deflect Arrows
Exceptional Deflection

Epic Spellcasting
Quicken Spell
Automatic Quicken Spell (×3)

That leaves two more feats - Maximize Spell and Enhance Spell?

I'm not that fond of Maximize and Enhance, since at that CR adding a bit of damage isn't a terribly effective tactic. Something to boost range or spell DC would be better.

Enlarge Spell, so it can hit targets farther away?

Heighten Spell, so all its spells have the DC of 9th level spells? [An advanced Draeden would presumably get Improved Spell Capacity and Improved Heighten Spell for 10th+ level spells]

I like Enlarge and Heigthen for them. If we're all agreed, I'll update the entry.

Sure thing.

One question, though. Do we need to list epic spells known or something to go with the Epic Spellcasting feat? I really have no idea how that system works, and I don't have the time to read it right now.

It will be able to spontaneously cast 10 epic spells per day, since it's a sorcerer-type caster. We could list which Epic Spells the Draeden has developed, but I think it's easier to say it knows all Epic Spells with a Spellcraft DC up to 135 (1 plus the Homebrew Draeden's +134 Spellcraft modifier).

That's all the SRD Epic Spells apart from Dire Winter (DC 319), Eternal Freedom (DC 150), Living Lightning (DC 140), Vengeful Gaze Of God (419) and Verdigris Tsunami (DC 170). It could develop Living Lightning with a 6+ Spellcraft roll, but frankly 10d6 supersize lightning bolt just isn't worth it, even though the Draeden doesn't need to spend an action when the Living Lightning self-triggers.
