Oops. I though you said a 3.0 source, so I figured I'd post the 3.5 stuff. It doesn't look funky at all. :)

Of the feat choices, I like Blind-Fight, Mounted Combat, and Power Attack.

For the horse's courage bonus, how about +4? It works for paladins. ;)

DCs...

Spell-Like Abilities: At will - alter self, color spray (DC 12), comprehend languages, cone of cold (DC 16), cure light wounds (DC 12), daylight, detect evil, ice storm (DC 15), major image (DC 14), see invisibility, silent image (DC 12), wall of ice; 1/day - heal (DC 17).

Caster level 10 sounds good.

Add a language line:

Shieres speak Celestial, Infernal, and Draconic, but can communicate with almost any creature, thanks to their tongues ability.

The noviere should have the same language line as well. (This is the same as the bralani and the ghaele).

Add: "A shiere’s natural weapons, as well as any weapons it wields, are treated as chaotic-aligned and good-aligned for the purpose of overcoming damage reduction."

CR 10? LA +10? These are what the firre has, and they have the same number of hit points and have relatively comparable power levels.

I agree, CR 10 and LA +10 is about right, makes it easy to adapt as a monster class aswell, should a DM and his/her players have that inclination.

ok, looks like what we have left are the skills - i'll try to work that up today.

did we decide on DR before? was it 10?
