Cool Meta-magic feats

I am partial to extend spell, at higher levels your mage armor and buffs can last for days, giving you full spell selection on off days.

I know I've read about feats to strengthen your spells against dispel magic but I don't think it was in T&B maybe one of the FR or a d20 book.

I dislike sonic as against the grain of fantasy flavor so I wouldn't recommend substitution sonic as cool, effective yes, but not cool.

The DnD FAQ from the WotC website states very specifically that you can stack the same metamagic feat multiple times on the same spell. Now some people will argue the validity of the FAQ (not me though), so I guess you'll just have to take it for what its worth (what its worth being up to you).

Empower if my fovorite, but it really depends on your spell list.

Enlarge is nice for some casters.

I fyou were a wizard, I think quicken is a must have, but I am more a sorcerer type myself, and think heighten is just wonderful.

I guess I am not being much help, let me try this:

Empower
Heighten
Still
Energy Substitution
Silent

More or less in order.

g!

It really depends on what type of mage will you play. If he´s a fireball powerhouse, Empower and Substitution. If you like to cast unnoticed, choose still and silent. Extend makes wonders for Summons and Charms, etc.

My three favorites:

Energy Substitution (sonic) - very few creatures are sonic-resistant.

Extend Spell - great for buffs such as Endurance and Stone Skin

Maximize Spell - imagine a fireball that does 60 damage every time, or a cure serious wounds that always heals a flat 39.

And for villains:

Sanctum Spell - all your spells are tougher at home. Nice for when those damn adventurers invade and work their way down to your lair.
