Cool Spell Combo's

What worked for me was
web & fireball the round after that...

When stuck in the web, you get no save and another 2d4 dmg, but this was 2E.

Or
transmute rock to mud & cone of cold after that...

You do get a save now. But the extra damage and line up to keep the enemies together or the possibility to cut your comrades out of the web first and burn the remaining enemies afterwards is nice.

Quickened Haste
Gate (open a 20' gate over opponent's head to Negative Energy Plane)
Reverse Gravity
Close Gate (cease concentrating, free action)

Merry Christmas!:D

Briar Web (entangles, causes damage)
Entangle (unnamed penalties stack, right? Reduces dex even further)
Blindness/deafness (penalties to str and dex)
Heat metal

1 1st, 3 2nds...

A spell caster was once caught in a web and then tried to cast fireball. I ruled it caught on a strand (didn't pass a concealment check) and detonated early. The wizard managed to die from the extra damage.

How about any entangle and acid fog/cloudkill?

A large smoky fire, or smoke sticks + fire eyes (drd 0). On a bunch of rangers, this can be pretty nasty. It isn't a spell combo, but it is still fun.

Transmute Rock to Mud is also one of my favorites, but I like to do just:

- Transmute Rock to Mud
- Dispel Magic
- [Insert favorite destruction spell here]

Put the wall behind them (relative to you) ... and use the Hand to bull-rush them THROUGH it. Sucks to be THEM, heh. The saddest part is ... it's a one-round instakill.

Is it really? Can the Hand bull-rush in the same instant it appears??

It can, but since the bull-rushing hand follows the opponent, it too will be consumed by the Prismatic Wall.

But that could be a small price to pay.

Acid Fog might do more damage, but Wall of Force followed by Blade Barrier is far more entertaining. I cast the wall as a cylinder and our cleric casts the BB. We call it THE FOOD PROCESSOR .
