Core Class- Empathetic Healer

I'm thinking wisdom, because then he can't really "double up" with extra life AND longer durations for the con modifier.

You say he's better than a cleric in combat, but you forget he has no spells :\ .

Well, I didn't forget, There are some spells that make clerics rock in combat. :D

However unlimited regeneration and a permanent natural AC bonus should even it out a bit Add to it that he can steal life from the creature he is fighting with a touch attack. I think I want to avoid giving him the ability to do it every attack in a battle, which would happen if it is 1/level + wis mod.

Something about classes and PrCs on enworld...they never get much attention...
 


Questions:

For the empathic transfer, do they have absorb the full amount of the heal check, or can they choose to absorb only some of it?

Opinions:

It might be cool if the Empathic Transfer ability changed to a standard action at a higher level.

I would rule they can absorb some of it.

I could definitely see the allure of making a move action to get to the target of the transfer. I would think somewhere around 9th level would be a good place for this.
 

I like the idea, though I would be more inclined to make it something liek below.

You may absorb up to double your level+wis bonus. You must still make the heal check and cannot absorb more than the heal check result or your level times two plus your wisdom bonus.

I would not allow fast healing in my game, but that is just me. And I probably wouldn't want the NA bonus, but again tats just me. It ould be cool however for the Pale to be able to emulat perhaps a small number of divine or arcane spells channeled through the wounds she absorbes. That would be pretty cool. :cool:

I would make the vampiric ability iether do more, or be used as often as the monks stunnign fist ability.

I was thinking the same thing today about NA and Fast heal, after reviewing the class after a year. The Steal life ability should be the main way the character revives, that or transferring the wounds.

I suggest the following changes, keep the fast heal at 1 per hour (maybe push it back to 6th level or so), Scrap the NA, and give Heavy armor to the class. Change the steal life to be used 1/ level + ability mod,
