Core Prestige Classes

Well, the best of them do exactly what you'd expect them to do.

To pick one I didn't suggest, the Order of the Bow Initiate, it sounds like someone who is studying archery intensely...and that is exactly what you get. Even though its one of the older PrCls, it stands up pretty well against other archer builds.

Contrast that with the Arcane Archer whose mechanics don't quite match up to what the class seems to promise- a melding of arcane power and archery.

Or look at the Kineticist. That PrCl takes one of the most common archetypal psionicists- one who directly manipulates energy- and brings it into the game in a way that any PC can qualify for it with a single Feat.

At first level, the Shiba Protector gives a Wis bonus to Att & Damage- very nice for a class that is going to have a high Wis already...

I don't think I've had a single Wis-based PC who didn't have a 1-lvl-dip into Shiba Protector since OA came out. :D

Works nicely for Paladins, Druids, Monks, Clerics... well worth losing 1 level of casting!!
