I'm surprised Wee Jas isn't getting more votes. I'd say she should get voted off because of a silly name, but upon looking at her competition that might be a hard decision.

However, there already is a god of death, and a god of magic. Do we need a god of death AND magic in addition?

The problem with that being that Wee Jas is actually cooler than both of them. ;)

True. And being Lawful, Wee Jas probably works a lot harder than the other two so we could save on payroll by just firing Boccob and Nerull.

Sorry Boccob, we're going to have to let you go. Your uncaring approach has just lead to a lot of sloppy work.

You know, I never really thought about it until now, but it's amazing how many of the core (or semi-core) deities of the current edition weren't actually gods when they first appeared in the game.

Vecna was a legendary lich.

Lolth was a demon.

Tiamat and Bahamut were mighty and unique dragons.

I think I'm going to have to vote for all of them. There are more than enough deities of the Greyhawk and draconic pantheons in existence already; none of these guys really needed, or deserved, their promotions. I mean, come on. Is there anyone who started playing in 1E who doesn't fondly remember dreams of slaying Tiamat, queen of all evil dragons? ;) I think she and Bahamut are far more interesting as incredibly powerful dragons, but not gods.

I dunno...

Come on... a giant 5' tall kobold, who's priests wear scalemail, that everyone runs in fear from? I think not.

I have had some pretty grueling encounters with Kabolds in the past, and not just at low levels. My DM loves to use them because they are worth almost no experience and can really work you over given time to prepare, maybe bring in a few of their spell slingers and a well crafted trap or two.
The simple fact of the matter is, when you are caught in a room with no way out, and kobolds are pelting you with arrows from light crossbows, it really doesn't matter who is pulling the trigger, it hurts.

I shall kick and trample over Boccob till he lies broken under my feet, his temples burn and I hear the lamentation of his worshipers. Gods of frikkin wizards.
