The kuo-toa do have their own deity. And, if you allow worship of demon lords and the like, they have a second major one in Dagon, nowadays.

I think the argument of "it's not realistic/fair to fictional characters for all races not to have their own gods, so no race should have them" isn't one that's compelling to me. To me, it comes down to "is it fun for a race to have their own god?" If it's not (Correllalalalashamalamadingdong wasn't fun, for instance), out they go.

If it is cool -- crazy naked lady with a lobster head and claws, for instance -- they get one.

My only concessions to theological realism is that NPCs ought to have gods they'd want to worship, not just adventurers. Beyond that, it's all gravy.

I agree. The adventurer-centric pantheon is annoying as hell. That's why I want to see Yondalla stay for another round.

C'mon guys. Let's not ditch the goddess of plenty until we've gotten rid of at least one of the three necromancer gods.

Wee Jas. No goddes of death should be lumbered with a name that forces people to ask "Do you have a son named Hugh."

Doesn't seem like too many people dislike Gruumsh, and I don't blame 'em. I mean, one-eyed god of barbarian rage and conquest? It's pretty cool. Plus, I love the idea of loyal followers scarring themselves and blinding themselves in one eye. I think it was the old 3e Eye of Gruumsh PrC that said the initiate has to remove one eye, WITHOUT CRYING OUT, to take levels in the PrC. If they do cry out, they can never take levels, but they're still missing an eye.

I mean, how cool is that? Much cooler than Miss Yondalla's "here, have some food. My loyal halfling followers, who don't farm, grew it in their bountiful shire farms that they don't live in. Hey, can I borrow a razor from you? I have to shave my feet again, lest my followers raise some questions better left unasked."

I'm not really sure whats with all the Lolth hate... Of all the dieties above, gamers have probably gotten the most use out of her over any of the others. She's even involved in the Temple of Elemental Evil! Drizzt books! It goes on.

I don't even really get all the Yondalla hate either. She's kind of bland, but there are gods more bland than she.

Is there anyone who started playing in 1E who doesn't fondly remember dreams of slaying Tiamat, queen of all evil dragons? I think she and Bahamut are far more interesting as incredibly powerful dragons, but not gods.
Supported.

Corolary: Long live Paladine and Thakisis! Death to Tiamat and Bahamut!
