That's a good example of how one-dimensional most D&D gods are.

"I'm the good guy sun god."

"I'm the bookish god of magic."

"I'm the happy unicorn girl."

"I'm the dour guy who hangs out with trees."

Which is why I like how Forgotten Realms made their Deities something more then God of _____, they at least tried to make the gods more than their portfolio. Whether or not they succeeded is a matter of personal opinion.

Well, as far as racial deities go, you seem to have forgotten Moradin.

I remembered him just a bit too late. :heh: But craftsmen need their god too, so I guess he could stay in as the god of Forge & Beer. I mean, wouldn't you like a cool beer after working in a hot forge all day?

Thinking further, I might want to keep Yondalla too, as a goddess of home, hearth and all that. Just sever her connections to halflings. Ditch the racial aspect of the deites, and some of them are quite decent concepts, while it lets the other races worship a more complete pantheon. I still see no place for Garl and Corellon, though.
