Okay, simple question with no answer that I can find. I'll keep it simple.
DMG, page 285, on the table. It says for items with multiple different abilities, multiply the higher cost item by two before adding in. First, this doesn't say what happens for three or more (in 3.0, it went that the highest remained the same and all cheaper abilities cost double).
Second,it contradicts DMG, page 288, last part. There, it says the cost of adding abilities beyond the first costs doublt.
The problem with both of these scenarios is that four or five items with the exact same abilities can come out with multiple different prices, which I think makes no sense whatsoever.
I think they intended to have it as the old way, i.e. the highest cost ability stays the same while all cheaper abilities cost double, with costs for adding abilities figured by taking the new item price minus the old. What say you?
