Really? So a bard (spontaneous caster) can't possibly cast cure light wounds spontaneously.

That ability has rather little to do with the bard. Clerics are no spontaneous casters, they can only cast spontaneously by converting their prepared spells into cure spells.

It does not follow. The feat does not refer to a specific, named, game mechanic. (Even though it could have done so.)

Sure does. It says, that you can spontaneously cast as a cleric can, so it refers to the spontaneous casting ability of the cleric, which in turn requires prepared spells to work.

If you're interested in Sorcerous healing, take a look at the Witch variant spell list in the DMG on page 175.

They have access to:

0: Cure Minor Wounds
1: Cure Light Wounds
2: Cure Moderate Wounds
6: Hero's Feast

It's not a cleric, but a sorcerer is generally going to have a few 1st and 2nd level spells left over at the end of the day. And Cure Minor is always a welcome salvation from stabalization checks.
