Craft Points From Unearthed Arcana

First Post
In my campaign we'd been tossing back and forth the whole Craft points bit from UA. I'd like some feed back about it before I put it into my game.

Does anyone have any experience with it?
Do you feel it is balanced?
How has your game changed?
Has it made the game any more enjoyable or less cumbersome?
Are you using the system as published or are you using a tweak?

Thanks,

I am using it in my game and it seems to be balanced. Before this i really never had a player create magic items (that claimed that it took to much downtime), now I have a bard creating potions, a wizard creating scrolls, and a sorcerer who may start creating wands.

It hasn't seen action yet, but it's certainly interesting. Many campaigns don't allow you to take several weeks off to work on a magic item.

I plan to use this in my next campaign coming up soon. The only issue I forsee is some possible odd situations, such as a wizard deciding to finish up his masterwork full plate he's been working on for his fighter buddy; well, these rules say it's assumed you've been working on it. Shouldn't he have 75+ lbs. of full plate pieces and smithing tools in his backpack? In more urban games this is really a non-issue. The ones it would most concern are the more wilderness based campaigns and the campaigns that involve a very large amount of foot travel. Balance-wise, it seems fine, as you still have to pay the gold and xp to make the items, you simply save time.
