Crafting items

Crafting rules are generic by necessity. Yes, it leads to a lack of realism, but the need for a (relatively) simple game mechanic often exceeds the need for realism. Because of this, addressing item crafting time on an item by item basis is simply beyond the scope of the rules. However, if you are looking to house-rule more realism into crafting time, I would suggest an internet search for the home page of some craft enthusiast in the relevant field.

I forgot to mention, there is always the option to add +10 DC to craft an item more quickly. It makes it a little harder to succeed, but when you do it counts for a lot more.

I just gotta raise the "fabricate" spell/power again.

say I am a 14th level psion/wiz with a maxed craft score of 17 and an int mod of say +6 ........ I go out and collect 100,000gp of the finest gold and emeralds etc in the kingdom and then "PUFF"
you get a crown fit for a king...

worse is the "puff" a few 1000 composite longbows.

Any mage/psion with this ability would be hunted down buy any evil medieval corporation without a significant stake!
