Creative Spellcasting

My 4th level Rog/Ran was sneaking through underbrush around the perimeter of a moderately fortified orc/goblin slave depot. Unfortunately for me I rolled a 1 on my move silently roll. This attracked the attention of the orc sentries and a feral moose in full rut. Caught between an amourous moose and a hard place I hid and said a little prayer. At this point my good friend the gnome casts ghost sound in the direction of the orcs. He followed up with a natural 20 on his Survival roll to imitate the mating call of a female moose.

The result was a great distraction for our infiltration of the compound, a large group of dead orc grunts and one particularly distressed orc which the moose mistook for an interested female.

Running through a manor with half a company of ogres behind us our party came to an intersection. On our right was a brightly lit vast hallway at the end of which we could see a great doubledoor. On our left was a dark cramped corridor which turned out to be a dead end. The candles in the hallway lit the intersection except for the left wall where the dark corridor was, and the corridor was at an angle so that it was only visible once you came to the intersection and looked straight at it.

We ran into the left corridor. When we heard the ogres closing in our mage cast silent image to create the illusion of our shadows running into the hallway to the right, and ghost sound to enhance it. When the ogres had run into the hallway he cast ventriloquism behind the double doors to complain about being tired of running. The ogres ran straight through the doors while we snuck away.

Fireball to blast opponents to bits.
Fireball to burn opponents to ashes.
Fireball to ... ok, guess that's not very creative. :p

Well, you can bomb ships with Shrink Item and Fly. :D

Minor Globe of Invulnerability to protect your spell's victims against dispel attempts. Did that once after a Polymorph Other hit a real nasty opponent (cleric... turned him into a turtle), so I could safely stash him into my heward's handy haversack for later interrogation.

Some sfx spells (i.e. Prestidigitation, Invisibility) to bluff a drunk into believing I am his conscience, talking to him. ;)

Suggestion to let someone speak the truth.

Rope Trick to move through a door.

Light and Mage Hand to help the party see in the dark, while I was trapped in a Web.

Bye
Thanee
