D&D 3E/3.5 Creature Catalog 3.5 Overhaul Project

as you can probably guess, i was inspired by the dragon's crush attack. as far as i can tell, that seems to be Con-based. of course, it seems more appropriate as Str-based, so i was unsure what to do. :)

agreed! not sure why dragons have it arranged that way either - unless i'm just reading it wrong. we'll go with Str-based for the colossus.

how is the rest of the conversion looking? i know we need to settle on the feats, but that might be just fine as is.

i also found a couple of issues in the stunning clap, and maybe another place or two.

I think that the dragon's crush attack is Con based because it just reflects that a large mass of flesh is landing on you, rather than a muscular powered blow (which would be Str based).

I'm not sure why the word living is needed in stunning clap (although it is included in similiar abilities), since both undead and constructs are immune to stunning anyway.

I don't think it is necessarily a sonic effect, but it could be.

Do we want to work this feat from Savage Species in somehow?

Stamp [Monstrous]
You can stamp the ground to crush and disrupt opponents.
Prerequisite: Huge size, feet, trample special attack.
Benefit: You may, as a full-round action, strike a solid surface with one of your limbs and create a shock wave that radiates out from your position and continues for a number of feet equal to 5 x your base creature's Hit Dice. Make a single unarmed attack roll. Every creature in the affected area compares its Balance check result to your attack roll result. Those who fail this opposed check are knocked down.
Special: Each structure and unattended object that is at least partially within the shock wave takes damage equal to 1d6 + your Strength bonus + the object's hardness (maximum 5).

Dunno...just figured I'd throw it out there. We can definitely skip it, as it wasn't in the original creature's description.

i don't know if we really need it - these guys are alternatingly so phenomenally bad or good at something, that a little extra bonus from other combatants being knocked prone won't make much of a difference. ;)
