By the way, all of these concepts are great. I think we should all submit the others to the 3rd Creature Collection by Sword & Sorcery.

I actually based this critter on a Rush Limbaugh joke!

What's the difference between Rush Limbaugh and the Hindenberg? One's a flaming Nazi gas bag and the other's a dirigible! :)

a couple more days or so. i may extend it depending on how close the race is. looks like the trap-creature is trying to cement its lead. ;)
 

This creature lies dormant as a trap, and steals attributes from an unsuspecting adventurer to temporarily increase its capabilities, rebuilding itself as a hideous mockery of its victim. Eventually, it collapses back into the dormant trap form. (HD var)

You might want to be careful making this creature, since that description makes it a Reason Stealer from Monster Manual II.
