Pathfinder 1E Critical Fumbles: Need Help Convincing DM

I'm of the opinion that if a player wants to have the fumble chance then it has to have a confirmation roll too. Getting a 1 is bad enough without automatically having X bad thing besides missing happen, and there are some options presented in this thread that I would never use even with a confirm such as the character beheading (or otherwise killing) himself. Players tend to put a lot of effort into their characters after all.

Apart from my maths just being wrong the claim was that a high level fighter would fumble less often than a low level one under the proposed confirmation system. I will now agree that Weapon Mastery makes it pretty likely to be true but the same is not necessarily true for a Paladin, Ranger or many other classes (although Smite or Favored Enemy could have an impact, assume they either aren't on for Smite or isn't in effect for favored enemy).

I agree that a L20 is likely more likely to fumble on a low iterative attack than a L1 character. But part of my point was that they're only 1-2% more likely. Higher ground has a greater impact on hit probability.
And while a fumble is more likely for that particular attack, it's potentially a smaller part of a character's turn.
