Cross-Class question

First Post
My new Bard/Cleric started with his perform at 4 ranks, he's now 1/1 but since the Max ranks for cross class skills at level one is 2, does that mean I can not increase the skill at all, even at Cross-Class cost?

Also, is there a feat for characters above 1st level that allows a Cross-Class skill to become a Class skill?

Actually no you can have a max. of 5 ranks(4from bard at level 1 and 2 for cleric at level 1)

For multi class characters, if the skill is a class skill for either class the max ranks is always as a class skill. So, the max ranks would be 5 for perform. You do still need to spend two skill points as a cleric to raise it, though. Note, that exclusive skills are an exception. They have max ranks according to the class level of the class that has them, not the combined character level.

Cosmopolitian in FRCS. Choose any non exclusive skill. That skill is a class skill for you and you get +2

Not at all. Since Perform is not an exclusive Bard skill, your max rank is character level +3. So your max rank for perform as a Bard/Cleric 1/1 is 2 + 3, or 5. However, when you gain a cleric level, you must spend skill points for Perform as a cross-class skill. Thus, to increase your Perform from 4 to 5 when you gain your cleric level, you must spend 2, not 1, skill points.

None of which I am aware.

Yeah, Cosmopolitan. I don't know why I was thinking this was a first level only feat. You can even take it multiple times.
