Paladin, because I like to demonstrate that you can be the epitome of Lawful Good and still not be stupid, intolerant, self-righteous, humourless, boring, judgemental, arrogant and narrow-minded.

Great post man. Paladin is one of my all-time favorites.

Fighter

1. Easy to customize
2. Fits nearly any race
3. Nothing like a confirmed crit with an axe to start the game right

Cleric (2nd favorite)

1. Good mix of fighter and magic
2. Fits every race
3. Its nice to hear "Protect the cleric!" when undead or goblinoids attack in mass.

I used to love Rogues for the skills and the Sneak Attacking, but I've become bored of the Sneak Attacking and though it isn't quite as good in the skills department, I've come to really enjoy playing Rangers. Decent skills, Fighter BA, decent HD, FAVORED ENEMY. :) It's become my favorite class.

I also used to like Wizards [Enchanters especially]. I loved my 3.0 Red Wizard of Thay Enchanter. Enchantment spell DCs were uber. Never minmaxed so much on a character, yet knowing I could go into battle and begin Commanding and Dominating people and having them attack their comrades was just so cool. I've kinda gotten tired of that though and I enjoy Cleric now.

In the next campaign I'm in, we're Gestalting and I was gonna be a Ranger/Cleric, but I think I might do Ranger/Archivist cause it looks interesting.

Paladins are also neat. Don't really like much else, I admit, though I have tried other things. Just not my cup o' tea, as the saying goes.

Well for me is an Artificer is a real planing class and evry time i play one the group with out a complait lets me take over running the party fundts (witch is pretty much all of it) and there are a lot of pre-adventure planing and a lot per-combat planing and yet i still feel i can do at bit in combat. I usual end up using buff scroll's on the party but i love i because i know the owning ;) the rest of the party does are for a large part because of me. I think the rest like it to they get all the glory

Favorite PC class? Depends on what time of day it is.
And every 15 minutes, its a new PrCl.

Right now, its Soulknife-o-clock. In 55 minutes, it will be Cleric AM. Then it will be Ranger time. When I wake up, I'll be relishing some good Morning Druid...and so forth.

I'm thinking rogue right now. I like the skills, I like the tumbling, and I like the sneak-attacking. Since I always DM, I rarely get a chance to play, and when I do I'm usually either a rogue or a caster-type.

Which is why I'm forcing myself to play more fighters.

Demiurge out.

Hmmmm. It's hard to say because I love 'pure' multiclass builds - two core classes, no PrCs. My wild elf druid/barbarian was great fun to play, high-level rogue/sorcerers are dangerous, and I always missed not getting to explore my soul-knife/monk concept.

If I had to pick just one, though, it'd be the original alt.Ranger as offered by Monte way back when.

for me its still the rogue. rogues get the most skills and skills matter - also most skills are class skills so they dont cost an arm and a leg to get.

for spellcasters I like the necromacer class from the secret college of necromancy
