OOC, for Jvdn1 and anyone who cares about Rita:[sblock]No, not too bad, actually. I'd estimate winds around here were about 60 mph. At one point, the forecasts had the eye headed right for me, so everyone but me left (for safety reasons). I rode it out, but was prepared to leave as late as 4 pm Friday (about 12 hours before landfall), had the forecasts stayed bad. But as the track shifted away from my location, and the thing started to weaken, I felt better and better about riding it out. At midnight (3.5 hours prior to landfall), I went outside and checked things out, and decided that I could finally get some rest without fear of any major damage to my house. I slept like a baby until 7 am, at which time I went outside again to find...no major damage. I was fortunate in that I never lost power, aside from a couple of brief flickers. As far as I can tell, some apartments about 2 miles from my house caught fire, and that was the nearest noteworthy damage. My family returned from the shelter around 6 pm yesterday (12 hours for what is normally a 4 hour drive to get to San Antonio, "only" 7 hours to return). The plywood is off my windows, the yard is picked up, and I"m ready to get back to this game![/sblock]
