Curse of House Thimbrall (orsal judging)

"I think he has to know that the jig is up with Thimbral", interjected Boog. "I'll bet we run into him before we can even get this thing back to Hamlir."

"No, I think he needed the amulet to dispell the curse." Kamdar scratches his head. "I think."

a fresh start to the day

The party is still packing up camp when Ridik and Boog notice
a pack of dogs approaching from the south, several hundred feet away
.

Ridik is packing his things. "Can I take a looks at the amulet a moment. I've ask Russna to give me access to a simple effect that would hide the magical aura of the amulet. That way, we could...". The mountain goblin turns his head and looks away. He draw his shield and take his mace, leaving his pack on the ground. "What that pack of dogs is doing here?"

"What that pack of dogs is doing here?"
"I don't know", replied Boog, ""but I hope they're not looking for trouble. Here, take the amulet if you've got some magic that will help." He handed the trinket to Ridik, while pondering the situation. Boog had never tried using his mental powers on a beast. He pondered the situation, wondering what to try and at what distance his powers might reach.

Just for insurance, he laid his staff on the ground and loaded his crossbow.

ao'Thuir glances in the direction Boog and Ridik indicate looking for this pack of dogs. Spotting them he grabs one of his javelins just in case they want to make trouble. He momentarily contemplates the injuries from yesterday that had not yet healed completely (hp: 14/22).

"... Wait, what?" Kamdar draws his blade. "Where? Should they get close, we should be able to defend ourselves."

"There!", Boog stated as he pointed out the approaching pack. He took aim with his crossbow, ready to fire.

OOC:[sblock]Boog will fire if the pack is more than 320 feet away, still approaching, and displaying hostile intent toward the party. Else he'll hold his fire until they are closer.[/sblock]

The dogs are heading straight toward you. After Ridik calls attention to them everyone can at least see the movement on the horizon, but it's not clear whether their intent is hostile. At the current distance it's also not clear what kind of dogs they are.

For the moment, it sounds like you're not about to attack quite yet. Please indicate
(a) if you draw a weapon or otherwise prepare (e.g. a readied spell), which one
(b) where in relation to the others, you position yourself
(c) at what distance you will act, assuming nothing significant happens before then
