Cyberpunk?

Well, I had put out a notice to find out how much interest there would be for a Sidewinder game. Due to the minimal response I am going to try to find out if anybody is wanting to play or run a Cyberpunk game. I would prefer to play as I am not as familiar with running the game. However, if there is a lack of interest in running, I will try my hand at it.

I got the new Cybernet book for Xmas and would love to play, either with those rules or otherwise. Though, not to GM.

just can't gm another game right now. Don't have Cybernet yet but it's only a matter of time. Somehow all Cyberpunk games end up in my collection.

Well, appearently no one around me has a copy of Cybernet for sale, so if that's what we use i'm out of luck.


I have a copy of some free cyberpunk rules for d20 modern (cyd20), but i have no idea how good they are, havn't played with them.

Who needs Cybernet anyway? Cyberpunk 2020 is the iconic Cyberpunk game and despite competition from Shadowrun, which is it's own nitch, remains so today. Simple system, horribly lethal combat, lots of flare, Cyberpunk 2020 is the stuff.

Now, admittedly, ENWorld is a d20 fan site, but there's not been a d20 supplement for the Cyberpunk genre that comes close to capturing the Cyberpunk 2020 feel.

Cyberpunk is a fantastic rule system. But, D20 is how this site works around, so I feel should anything get started, D20 should be what we work with.

I wholeheartedly believe that people should play whatever they like, I just don't think that people should be blinded to possibilities just because d20 is King in these parts. There are a handful of play by posts on this site that aren't D20 games, and there's not been a fuss. Don't discount Cyberpunk 2020 and Shadowrun just because they use a different system.

I'll bow out of the discussion now. I really don't have time to run a game, so really don't have any business arguing for or against any particular game system.
