[D&D 3.5] Paths of Legend: Paths of Madness (OOC)

Unless the prison's layout is very unorthodox or incorporates force effects in its construction it seems unlikely that it'll be able to hold my incorporeal character for very long. My undead character can help the party by reconnoitering the area, distracting/misleading guards, subduing opponents and even attempting to find/retrieve the party's possessions for them.

Well, they were capable of incapacitating/capturing, and transporting all of us TO these cells..

Ambrus: Yeah, you're probably being held by force, if they know what you are - not too difficult a task for a cabal of wizards. Forcecage spell right from the PHB would be the easiest way. a 13th lvl wizard would have to cast it once per day, 26 hr duration. (Hmm. just noticed that it doesn't even allow save/sr.. i'm gonna have to start using that spell more often).

Shayuri - actually, the Monkey did say that psi-crystals were being held as gear, though we don't know how easy said gear will be to retrieve.

Voda - Hmm, can you actually make it through the bars? Are we talking escape artist check, or was that just a squid joke? ;)

Any other ideas?

My character wasn't captured and imprisoned as a shadow. He rose as an undead only after dying in the prison; a process the other prisoners are likely aware of since his death was slow and agonizing. He hasn't yet attempted escape because, until just before the campaign starts, he was still clinging to life.

But sure, since it's a magical prison it may very well include some force effects in its construction anyway; though it's a prohibitively expensive and complicated security feature for the prison's administration to manage. I suppose it depends how important the prisoners are to their wizard overlords.

Ma’haretek can cast enlarge person to burst shackles and bars, and rend stone with his 2d6+6 dmg claws, using bloodwind to avoid damaging his weapons in the process.

But in post #1 I beleive monkey did give us an out:

A fellow prisoner, a half-mad gnome, whispers to you in the dark of night. He knows of an escape, though the path is long and frought with peril.

well if any of you have the ability to shape me some metal my lockpicking skill is rather high at such low levels.... I would just need some picks is all for at least the physical locks....

dunno if you've ever used real lock picks before but the material that they are made from has to be strong enough to hold it's shape.. but flexable enough to for the user to get it around tumblers and obstacles in the lock itself.... woo just isn't gonna cut it if the DM isn't giving us any breaks.... unless it's like... ironwood or something LOL

Vertexx - True, however I wasn't sure wether or not that came equipped with ways out of our individual cells as well.
Also, exercises like this help pass the time and familiarize us with our own (and other) character's capabilities.

As for the lockpicking - You could try to force it open with a large stick. that's one way of picking a lock. :D
