I'll be on vacations until monday 13th, just letting you know I'll be away this coming week. If there's no problem I'll like to keep my post. I'm a constant poster, so you'll have no problem with my peace, I think some of the people here could testify that. I'll like to play this game if you could wait for my return.
Alright, no problem. I'll have 7 to start with, and I'll have you come in a bit later. Having you start a bit later won't present any serious problems to my plans, and I can work it in pretty easily. You might be a bit behind in XP, but that shouldn't be a big deal.
I don't think you can fairly play either variety of Gith in a 1st level game, what are the level adjustments +2? *Checks* Yes +2.
Um yeah, no giths, and I probably wouldn't have them as a standard race unless I was doing Planescape.
I am debating going from halfling to gnome... Mostly because I think it is neat how diverse we are lol. Even though we haven't posted characters, would there be a problem if I changed race?
Not at all. We're still working on party composition.
Just a synopsis of what we have so far, it looks like the party is comprised of the following:
Fangor - Kobold Sorcerer
Hero - Dwarven Ranger
Jack - Orc Barbarian
Aldern - Halfling Psion
Voda - Human Fighter
Lughart - Goblin Wizard
OnlytheStrong - Halfling Druid
Pretty diverse! Amazingly, the Halfling and Goblin are the majority racewise. Jack and Voda will be the giants in the group, as everyone else seems to be on the short side. So, is there a rogues gallery we can start putting up the characters? Or should we put up the characters here until approved?
I'll put up a Rogues' Gallery soon.
It's also kind of amusing that there's a lot of Small characters in this party. I didn't see that coming.
This is likely going to be my biggest chellenge as a DM. Seafaring campaigns are a little off the norm, and it's been a while since I've played a regular campaign. I also feel a bit shaky running things with animal companions and familiars, but here I've got a party with a druid, ranger, sorc, wizard, and psion. That's potentially 2 companions, 2 familiars and a psicrystal. Ouch.

And like I said, I haven't used 3e psionics before. On the upside, this is a PbP game, so I shouldn't have to worry about pauses breaking up the gameflow too much.
In any case, bard it is! I have skills, I have my Citra, I have a sword and I have my magic. There we go, seafaring bard coming up in about 2 hours. Rolling. Link to Mythweavers sheet will be right >here<.
Edit: I'm not happy with this... this... insuferable dice rolls.
It's alright. You still have a human DM here, and I can pull punches or at least not go out of my way to pwn the weaker PCs.
Besides, jack's playing a big half-orc, so he can be the big guy that gets attacked a lot.

And we got goblins and a kobold here, and they like to fight dirty.
So, would that put the GOBLIN duo as the Racial Majority? Hilarious! Yeah, this rag tag group is going to be an interesting bunch! I will have to go through and see what spells to pick out. Orius, I am sending a PM your way, as I would like to run something by you.
Will this place be ok to start posting up the characters?
It's amusing that people were like, "We get to play goblins? Cool!" Yes this will be one motley crew. And you guys will be eventually getting your own ship.
Spells: I'd like do go with the summoning specific creatures variant from the DMG (at least the 3.0 DMG). I'm also thinking about being more flexible with the selection, instead of the fixed selection for templated creatures, I want to let the players choose a creature and a template. So instead of being confined to say celestial dog or fiendish dire rat, you can choose either a dog or dire rat or any other creature on the summon monster I list and have it celestial or fiendish as well as axiomatic, anarchic, fire, water, earth or air. I'm going to take a look at the templates and make sure they're more or less balanced first.
Anyway, that's 8 PCs, so recruiting is closed.
