Druthruss will drag Pier to the bank, get his axe and pack and then work on Pier.

"Someone gimme a hand. I seem to be making a orc lepers job of this. We have a smoke plume that can be seen for miles. We had better get out of here before the green and warty vultures come a scavaging."

As they came ashore, a toothy grin was still plastered on the Shifter's face.

"Another victory in the Brawler's name! Exalt in the Brawler's blessing! You've stood victorious!" He calls aloud, before hearing Druthruss speak.

"Do not fear the scavengers! We will defeat all who stand against us!" He chastised, his grin slipping faintly, before he knelt beside the wizard, assessing the injury, before attempting a brief chant, intended to resuscitate the wizard.

"Bah! Tis but a fleshwound! What kind of warrior falls after such an injury!?"

[sblock=Healing Check]
The chant was a fluffed healing check.

16... is that enough to fix Pier up a bit?[/sblock]

Pier is stable and, with a little rest, will likely make a full recovery.

Vatan slogs quietly along the riverbank, scanning the water for the green-skinned mage. The air is crisp and quiet, a deafening silence that forces the imagination into overdrive.

A fog settles in above the water and over the bank, a swirling mist full of ill intentions. The contorted faces of those lost in the battle gaze through the haze, locking Vatan's stare. The screams, the clashing of swords; the fire, and the smell of burning flesh...

A glint under the moonlight, and the scene snaps away. There, clinging to a rotting cypress stump, the bloody hexer floats face down in the blackening water.

As he approaches the corpse--a corpse of his own making--Vatan wonders exactly how far he's gone from the others.

Before reaching for the body, Vatan pauses to check his surroundings, listening to see if there are any gobbos lurking about.

"'Tis a might spooky, what with the fog an' all. Sure it be not too far to the others though."

If he finds no enemies nearby, he will quickly go out and retrieve the body then carry it back towards the group of survivors following the river in the opposite direction that he came.

Don't ask me why there are two thought bubbles....:~

"Senseless, wanton destruction," Aridha murmurs as she watches the ship make its final, suicidal run. "And now we're trapped in their territory."

She pulls her cloak more tightly around her shoulders then goes to the ship's captain.

"I'm very sorry for your loss. Come with us at least until we reach a town or city. If the goblins launch attacks like that with impunity here, there probably won't be any patrols or friendly forces coming."

"We need to find a safe place to camp."

"We dont have long before nightfall. I say we should go a few hundred yards away from the river. Farther than they could hear chatter on a silent breeze. Farther still if you ask me ! We should get into cover and have no fire and we could do without a lot of noise too. I have some rations and we might be able to scavenge or hunt something if were lucky. We ought to set watch and have some deck hands to each of us. We watch in twos plus the deck hands and change over one at a time. The lady Elf and I have good night vision so maybe we should take the middle of the night watch and perhaps try for some forraging or hunting as you see fit m'lady. Next day the crew can either go forward with us to maybe Hania or head at full pace back to Magalie. Either way its a good days march but wern't we told that Hania might be overrun and offer no solace ?

On the bright side, at least this is more in tune with my expectations when I left home." - he adds with an absurdly fake optimistic grin.

Returning to the group with a goblin corpse over his shoulder, Vatan drops the body as soon as he reaches the clearing. "I tell ye. It be spookier than the Sea Hag's night cabin out there. D'nae see any gobbos out there either." He will then start searching the body. "This fine fella (pointing at the body) be that caster. Methinks he might be carrying som'tin to be givin' us ideas bout what they may be up to."

Looking for anything that might give any indication as to plans or other interesting stuff. Anything that looks like it might be out of the ordinary will be tossed into a pile next to the body.

Vatan drops the wet corpse of the hobgoblin down with a sickening thud--one that could only be made by something dead. Despite what they've been through, several of the crew members cringe at the sight of the awkward position of its water-soaked limbs.

Though the hobgoblin's wicked staff is long lost somewhere in the Crescent River, Vatan feels there there is still something buried in the deep-pocketed cloak.

After a minute of wrestling with the drenched cloth, Vatan removes two vials of liquid and a small purse of gold coins.

After searching the body, Vatan will stand and give the corpse a kick in disgust. "He be carrying nothing to be helpin' us figurin' what they be up to. Though mayhap these be helpful (holds out the vials) to anyone who be knowin' of these sort of things. Mind, they did come from a cursed gobbo."

"How be our friend there, Druthruss? D'ye think he can moved soon?"
