Jude will ensure his gear is well dried after falling into the water and quietly rest. When asked about the gold, he'd be fine with giving it to the sailors.

He's looking forward to a bit of rest after the battle and swim, he'd forgotten how much effort it was to battle.

Sahyr will make sure that Kord blesses everyone with the ability to fight at full capacity. [OOC: He makes sure everyone gets to full HP during the night's resting before taking his turn at watch duty]

[OOC - I hope I slung my pack far enough that it didnt land in the river. Anyway - nothing here other than to be alert. Just want to continue with play.]

The sun rises into a clear sky the following morning as the scent of Orlan's breakfast wakes you. It's hardly enough to fill any of the eighteen of you, but it's something--and it's good.

"Gear up men!" Zeke wails a bit later. "News of that attack'll be gettin' back to Port Magalie faster'n we will be, so we best be gettin' and lettin' our familes know we're okay, and informin' the families of those who ain't." He then turns to the six of you.

"You all lived up to your end o' the bargain," he said. "Ye fought like heroes and damn near died like heroes too," he looked at Pier as he finished. "And fer that, I'm in your debt."

After the breakfast, and Zeke's thanks, Vatan will approach the captain. "Cap'n, Ye be sayin' that we had done our duty, but 'twas not done proper. By my reckonin', ye an' yours have done lost more than a few trinkets of our trade, what with yer livelihood 'n all bein' put aflame on our watch." He will then shuffle his feet a bit before offering the pouch of gold and continuing. "I have already talked it over wit' me crew n' we be thinking that ye could be usin' this better than we. It ain't much, but it could help a wee bit in getting back on your feet and helping the families of those who don't return with you. I hope ye have a safe and uneventful return." and he will offer his hand to Zeke as he says that last.

The bustle of the crew breaking camp finally rouses Pier. He stands up, testing his body gingerly only to find that it seems to be entirely whole once again. He approaches Sahyr carefully, mindful of the reputation shifters have of being wild and dangerous. "Thank you. I feel as sound as I ever have. Please also thank Kord on my behalf when you commune with him."

He also speaks with Druthruss. "I do not remember much after that goblin stabbed me, but I did wake up while you swimming me to shore. I owe you my life; thank you."

He then pitches in to help strike the camp with the renewed vigor of a man who has seen death and now appreciates life the better for it.

"Well theres the thing lad, t'is true that I knocked the scum and pulled you from the fire but the only reason I even got to you was that the bug guy there rescued me as well. He was in a bad way hmself for a while - not that I should mention it too loudly n'all. An I saw the lady elf dispatch a few and she just made it too. Id say were all lucky to have got out of that one. So dont worry about it. I think that was a little too exciting if you know what I mean..."

The captain takes the gold, but not without a moment of hesitation. He offers the group heartfelt thanks, he and his men are sure to shake everyone's hand before they set off back the way they came.

Before you, the road to Hania awaits. Well, it would... if there were a road. The captain reckons that you'll reach Hania by midday tomorrow if you follow the river on foot.

Looks like it's another night in the wilderness, but this time without the protection of numbers.

Jude is happy they could recompense the sailors in some small part for their loss. Turning to the others "Well, we ain't getting closer to Hania here. Want me to take point? Anyone got good eyes to help me keep an eye for trouble?" the warrior says, packing up his gear and sheathing his blade.
