D&D 4E; Official Supplements & Modules You'd Like to See

A book about customising monsters/making your own.

Psionics

Dark Sun (believe it when I see it)

Not bastardised Dragonlance (so it would need to be done by MWP)

Additionally I would like to second the request for an adventure that is ended by killing Elminister

I think of more later

Interesting. Don't bastardize Dragonlance but go and kill Elminster....

Yeah, because DL doesn't have any iconic characters that need to be put down super hard. ;)

Technology Through the Ages - A supplement where it showcases various different time-periods (most likely in the PoL world since that is the base) where technology has advanced. Each chapter would explore a different level of technology in terms of; items (weapons, items, armour, etc.), feats, PPs, etc. how it affects societies and races, etc.

Neat idea. Maybe a more generic "World Building Book for DMs", with a sections on geography, technology and religion.

More poster-maps. Seriously, if there's one thing I've used more in my last two years of gaming, it's been the fantastic locations maps. I don't care if they put new ones in modules, sell them separate, or maybe just one in a new minis-pack, I love them.

As much as I enjoy Dungeon Tiles, I find the Poster maps better for thinking up encounters. And since the poster maps don't need to be balanced for mini skirmish battles anymore, designers can be more creative.

Actually, now that I think about it ... I'd like to integrate poster maps and Dungeon tiles. Tiles can accent and alter background poster maps. That way we don't need as many generic tiles.

Based on current needs and wants:
* Low Magic / Grim & Gritty Rules and Options
* Technological Classes, Rules, and Options
* 4E Modern & Future

A true complete out of the box super module. By that I mean all of the maps, tiles and minis needed for the entire thing.

Throw in a download or CD of handouts and sound effects to boot.

I would pay in the $100+ neighborhood for a good one.

I got a supplement for 4th right here!

Creative Campaigning!

While the DMG offers some of this, and subsequent ones may offer more, there should be a book that breaks it down and explain from start to finish how to make a long-term campaign, and also how to make short term ones as well as one-shots.

Basically the guidebook they use for making the published modules/adventures themselves, to help people under 4th edition be able to take the process of old and apply it to the new system to get more out of a game than just a bunch of stringed combats to actualy create a connective story/plot for those that may be new to the game all together.

It should also explain how to tell when you have too little or too much combat going on and how to slow or speed up the game to suit your players, and how to judge your players reactions to know when this time is.

The DMG pretty much devoid of mechanical guidelines, but all design guidelines to actually improve DMing skills in the creation area rather than the rules adjudication area.

Sword and Fist = Complete Warrior = Martial Power
Defenders of the Faith = Complete Divine = Divine Power
Tome and Blood = Complete Arcane = Arcane Power
+ the mix that is Masters of the Wild, Song and Silence, Complete Adventurer, and Primal Power.
Arms and Equipment Guide = Adventurer's Vault
Manual of the Planes = Manual of the Planes

Wish List:

Oriental Adventures
Savage Species - even more important with the 4th edition design structure
Races of * - perhaps included in Savage Species
Deities and Demigods
Eberron Player's Guide
Greyhawk Player's Guide
Dark Sun Player's Guide
Mystara Player's Guide
Dragonlance Player's Guide - just to get new PC classes
Unearthed Arcana
Psionics Handbook - theoretically in Player's Handbook 3 but I don't want to wait that long
Something akin to The Dark Side Sourcebook for Star Wars - but not like Book of Vile Darkness

and...

4th Edition-style Modern RPG core rules - taking cybernetics could be like multiclassing in to new powers

Hmm . . .

More monsters - lots of 'em.

More classes and races obviously - I'd particularly like to see a series of "Races of" books like in 3.x - have each book include 5-6 new races, with a ton of feats, magic items, paragon paths and epic destinies for those new races as well as for a few PHB races - lots of fluff too.

Ki power source classes - monks, samurai, ninjas etc. Really do it up anime/wuxia style. Throw in some oriental themed races, maybe a campaign setting (not Rokugan, it stinks).

In depth books on the Feywild and Shadowfell - one book for each, stuffed to the brim with locations, plot hooks, fluff, and new monsters themed for the plane. This is probably what I want most. Throw in 4e versions of the Fiendish Codexes too for good measure.

Definitely a book of artifacts - Weapons of Legacy style would be good, and I'd like to see the nine swords from TBo9S make it in. I liked those swords. :)

Most of the things everyone seems to want are already 'scheduled' for the next few years... Ki Power source will be in a PHB, we're already getting a dose of monsters each year with the Monster Manual, we're already getting a new campaign setting each year... I think that covers Oriental Adventures, Psionics, missing monsters, Dark Sun or Greyhawk, etc. I don't know as clamoring would move up the schedule, the pacing and product lifecycle seems deliberately set.

One book I haven't seen mentioned on any schedule is a 4E Deities and Demigods. I would argue for updates of the Fiendish Codexes, but they seem to be doing fine releasing Arch Devils and Demon Princes in Dragon. How about an updated version of Lords of Madness? I skipped out on most of 3.x but everyone loves Lovecraftian horror.

The other question is whether WOTC would ever consider licensed properties (or, ahem, finally publishing a GSL?) 4E would support a nice version of Middle Earth, we did get a d20 Call of Cthulhu (I'd love to see 4E versions of the classics), and the powers system would work great for an 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' style game, maybe when they get to working on the Elemental power source.

I'd love to have

Book of different time period weaponry. Toss in some monsters for each period (GIFF as a PC race again!) and it's a great concept. Originally, the firearms were going to be in the PHB, but they got removed.

Spelljammer/Planescape supplement. All kinds of places to visit in the Astral Sea.

Nice big book of Sigil (maybe fused with the above book)

Dark Sun Campaign Setting

Mystara Campaign Setting

I don't get what people love about Greyhawk... Other than the City of Greyhawk, I always thought it was boring. I'd much rather have Dark Sun or Mystara, but to each their own.
