D&D 4th Edition, H Series, Online Game

Glad to see this thread is shaping up. I do not have access to the ph2, I have a set of quick start rules and that's about all until my starter set thing arrives. If that is not enough to play than I apologize and would gladly get out of the way hehe.

That is absolutely not a problem.
Once you have written a background blurb we will set you up with a PHB2 background.
Until then you could do like the others and try the WotC Character Builder.
I'm sure it will be worked out.

I am remaining in thread for now while I am transcribing pc sheets for game records.

If I do not respond immediately its only because I have not refreshed the page.

To start...sorry about last night's sleepy episode....would of caught those errors sooner had I slept but now that I have:

Fielin Darkshore:
-Need Deity and Alignment...if you don't have PHB2 we will just give you a background closest to the one you will script and adjust skills accordingly.
-What rogue weapon talent do you specify?
-You have chosen a longsword....I have not looked yet but most rogue abilities key off of "light blades".....longsword will not qualify for that unless you select "light blade" descriptor for your "weapon of quality" from Douven....in which case, ignore this one!
-AC is 15 not 13, HP 24, HS 8 not 3, SV 6 not 3....but two of those were my fault from last night!

Great submission

Quinn:
-Alignment & Deity.....same background spiel as above.
-Choose your Weapon of Quality

I see nothing wrong that I didn't mess up last night.

Great Submission

Gorshak:
-Choose your Weapon of Quality

Nicely done.....only one question, aren't paladins lawful good?
If so it may change Kord as god of choice....and if not....don't mind me then!

Travis: (npc)
-HP fixed
-Weapon of Quality added
-gold adjusted

I have missed someone....will continue once I have caught up.....10 minutes tops.

Peace & Light

Oh....I remember;

Mardok:
-Choose your Weapon of Quality and it's trait.

Wow, nice one Zardoz

That's all for now...but before anyone asks:

Douven Staul's Weapons of Quality are unique primary non-magical weapons that the characters have been given as a gift.
They may credit themselves the value of their primary weapon or spend this "rebate" on more equipment.
A weapon of quality is treated as such;

Bladed weapons (Heavy/ Light/ Knives/ Axes, etc....) all have a +1 attack bonus (it is called "balanced")

Blunt weapons (Mace/ Flail/ Club, etc....) all have a +1 damage bonus instead of attack (it is called "fortified")

OR

Add a weapon descriptor that your primary weapon does not have....only one....this replaces either the attack or damage bonus...such as; a dagger with high critical or a longsword that shares a light blade & heavy blade descriptor or a crossbow with quick reload descriptor.

(Were they to be pawned they would fetch nearly 10 times their normal value)

There is no charge for these weapons and no other copies were ever made....they are as varied and unique as those they were gifted to.

Having said this...I need food....be back online in an hour or so.

I am just going over the characters thus far;

A Goliath Paladin
A Half-Orc Barbarian
A Deva Cleric
An Eladrin Rogue
A Human Warlord
(with one "pending" shortly)

I have been lookin over them and I gotta say, (great buncha PC's, but that's not it!) the Goliath is pretty tough for first level....it would FIGURE....but Zardoz...I'm afraid of your Orc...he's a freakin' monster, Dude!
Once he starts raging....please, people....do yourself a favor and get the hell outta his way....lol....I think he's definitely the party "Tank".
Very "ouch-time".

Peace & Light (and "quick, tie some meat on a string so we can bandage him up an get the hells out of here.".......just jokin')

weapons

I do not use a weapon (I AM the weapon, lol). Can I get a holy symbol or other offsetting piece of equipment? what do you think would be appropriate?

Something has just come to my attention.
While trying to have a room started I noticed a responce in the FAQ's.
Something about the DM's doing all the rolling.
I am not sure how that sits with me.....at a previous site, the rooms had built in digital resolution....you typed "roll d6+4" and you generated a number between 5 and 10.
Now we can do this if you want...but I would prefer to see if the same people who make the "map tools" software we are probably all going to use also make a "dice tools" as well.
I will dicuss it with you here tonight and tommorrow....or for as long as we have to...whatever the case, we'll sort it out.
I will be lurking.

-A Heavy Shield with only a -1 check penalty?
-A Light Shield that doubles as an implement, has your holy symbol on it?
-Dwarven boots, you will slide 1 less in an effect?
-Metal Gauntlets that allow your punch to be lethal damage only (as in may not subdue when worn)....combat gloves if you will....+1 dmg to punches only?

Is he wearing armor at all?

No armor or weapons as yet. I plan to be prayer based attacking so unless a suitably tempting weapon comes along...probably unarmed is my thing. Armor is definitely going to be handy, but I just can't afford it yet, hence the question on replacement or trade in value.

Aha, the book says a Paladin has to be the same alignment as its diety. That means an unaligned Paladin. Which apparently works by the rules. Odd. So my goliath is now unaligned instead of good. I wonder how that plays.

Also, Khopesh sword with the attack bonus, please.

Looking at some of the combat actions here, that Aid Another one. Reckon the half-orc could pick up and throw the warlord at the enemy, then charge on into the fight himself?

That can only happen under certain circumstances:

1) The warlord is a dwarf. Dwarf tossing is an accepted practice among many races

2) You have initiative BEFORE the dwarf. You must achieve tactical surprise on both the dwarf AND the enemy for it to work properly

3) For optimum effect, the dwarf should be wearing plate armor to get that skid effect that really makes the end of the maneuver perfect.
