D&D General d&d arcane monsters

Those sound more angelic than anything else, but ultimately I think you have the base ideas to make a really cool new race. You just need a cool name.
you have an angle that is the lord of necromancy and is a lich?
Thanks! Do you have a name I could call these things?
no, as I inherited my dad's inability to name things. they are just listed as the arcane lords for the document I put stuff in.

Are the lords of arcane magic or lords of necromancy? A lot of necromancy is divine magic, not arcane IMO. Are they undead? You didn't mention that previously.

no worries. I can work something up without a name.

arcane lord is the place holder, but all of them from toddler up are master of arcane magic, the high lord of necromancy is a lich or more exactly makes demi liches look like wights in comparison, other necromancy ones are liches.

there are less than 50 in the setting left on the world most have moved off.

25 and up cr
huge minimum.
looks uncertain other than they have arms with eight digits two are thumbs. also need to invoke awe but not be something from the planes.
wings would be nice big and really different not like anything you normally see.
six minimum
skin like armour, the flesh of titanium partly arcane energy forced corporeal, both ethereal and almost more than real.
both are options but most are multi-classed super wizard sorcerers. the high eight specialise in one of each type of magic like an archmage on super shoulder syrum with a body that is no weakness.

any arcane spell used against them just makes them stronger.
can use ki or psionics ever no one knows why.
their servitor race is made in the image but much weaker and is intended as a player option
Are the characters going to be interacting with these beings at all?

If they are so powerful, I wonder why you need stats at all. Why not just make a list of abilities instead of worrying about finding an existing monster?

Phaerimm from Forgotten Realms are ancient magically powerful big nonhuman fliers.
too evil for the role.

possibly depends on how things go sometimes you just want super monsters in your back pocket.

I'd go with Azazel or Belial.
too cosmic evil, these are more worldly evil they are born and can die and not actively pushing for evil.
plus those look far too human, the servitor race maybe but not the lords themselves.
plus these guys do have a few gods that they do like who are not evil.
all in setting gods are with out alignment.

I mean, Vecna is probably the ultimate lord of necromancy and arcane secrets, creating demi-liches and making other liches look like mere specters.
He was a mortal and was defeated more than once.
