I wish I could go! This should be a blast.

And I'm glad to hear about the RPGA membership. I've been a member since the late '80s. It'd be a shame for it to expire now.

Thanks for the notice about the events, Dave--and thanks for all of the hard work that you and everyone at the RPGA put into the show.

I believe the delve is first come first served so you would just join a table as space is available.

Mr Scott is correct.

The delve is in it's own little area. Tickets are $1 and you can purchase them at the pre-reg desk during normal hours, or Delve HQ once pre-reg closes down each evening. One ticket gets you on 30 minute shot (or until you die) at getting as far as you can through a randomly determined set of encounters. Once you are done, or dead, you can get back in line and try again as many times as you want. So the Delve cannot 'sell out' in pre-reg or onsite. The line to play can vary in size depending on the time of day (ends of slots is the busiest time as people finish their games early and try to get a Delve run in before their next game starts).

As to forming tables, when a table opens up, the person coordinating the Delve will take the next 6 people in line and sit them down. We try to keep at least 6 tables going at all times allowing us to put 72 people an hour through it. With it open 16 hours a day we can, and have, put a 1,000 people through it in a single day.

Depending on how you do in the Delve you earn tokens which can then be used toward Convention only rewards (D&D reward cards, special paint mini's, dice, handbags, etc.)

Wavester and Charwoman: thanks! much clearer.

We aim to please. I'll answer anything I can about this show or any other as long as my NDA does not prevent me from doing so (as I like my right foot and would really hate for Wotc to take it and feed it to Gleemax)

We can play at the same table as a friend if we pre-reg for the same slot, right?

For almost every event that is a guaranteed yes. Even for the couple that are not it's a 99% yes.

For events we do what is called marshalling. Each event marshalls under a banner (lists onsite tell you what event goes where). A nice marshall will gather everybody up and start breaking people down into groups of 6 and sitting them at a table. Usually the only way people do not get to play with friends is larger groups that show up a little late. If we have 2 judges left and 3 groups of 4 people then we need to make 2 groups of 6 out of it and one group has to split up. So for two friends you are all good. Just show up early. If you have a larger group of friends then once again show up early. (be on time - you don't need to be 30 minutes early but we do start sitting tables at 5 till slot start time).

Also once in your marshall area with others be proactive and get a group of six together and ready. If you are a group of 4 try to find another group of 2 and join up. That way when the marshall says do we have any groups of six ? You can raise you hand and get seated right at the start. This is really easy for the LFR events (as everybody is first using pre-gens) and a little harder for Living Greyhawk (where levels can vary from 1st to 15th and you must take classes into account as well - group of 6 rogues might be fun but healing might be a little rough).
