okay my reaction:

i bought 60 packs of the Harbinger ---- 480 minis... 80 possible unique minis....which also means i have 60 rares... i'm still missing the medusa and the Cleric of Corellon Larethian

i bought 40 packs of the Dragoneye --- 320 minis... 60 possible unique minis...which also means i have 40 rares...i'm still missing the dwarven defender and the orc druid

my hat for the plastic random minis knows no limit :]

they are cheap plastic...you should be able to purchase the ones you want at a reasonable price. the paint jobs suXX0r.

 Anyone who buys more than a case of these things because
they're trying to collect them all is not playing the odds correctly. Buy a case, then buy singles online or at your FLGS. You'll beat yourself for paying
$5 for cheap plastic, but if you're just going for one of each, you'll spend less than trying to get it through buying boosters.

Now, if you're trying to collect multiples of miniatures, that's reasonable to do.

http://www.popularcollections.com is a pretty decent site for buying singles.

The idea is to get a feel as to how much of a pack people normally find interesting. :)

My reaction:
Hobgoblin, Crossbowman, Urthok and Eye :)
Werebear, Baaz, Stonechild and Chitine :(

My reaction:
Gnome Fighter, Kerwyn, Druid, Black Dragon :)
Goblin, Abyssal Maw, Dwarf Barbarian, Werebear :(

I actually enjoy the randomization for a couple of reasons.
...
2. It gives me a reason to include some monsters in my game that I otherwise may never have included.

You can do the same by rolling on the random encounter tables or random NPC tables, and with a little effort you can combine it with any class or template for far many more combinations possible.

Pack One:
:) hobgoblin, crossbowman, eye
:( baaz, stonechild, chitine, werebear, urthok

Pack Two
:) goblin, dwarf, kerwyn, druid, dragon
:( abyssal maw, gnome, werebear

Mike: that would be very, very cool. I'm fortunate enough to own a copy of WG4, and that really sounds entertaining. :)

I'm hoping to maybe, if I have time this summer, to make a 3D model of the temple using custom made bits, MasterMaze, and Mage Knight 3D dungeons. On one hand, that's tons of work. On the other, it would be so cool to have the exterior in 3D, with a grid for miniatures. If I end up doing it, I'll be sure to snap a lot of photos for posterity.

Now, I just have to hope that the snowstorm up here in the northeastern USA doesn't delay my Archfiends case....
