D&D Minis... Who is bumbed about the end of production?

Could you not use Kenku for the Wereravens? I think there are a couple in the DDM line that would do a good job.

As for the OP, I'm pretty bummed about the line being cancelled, like a lot of people have already mentioned, time is an issue for metal miniatures, I also find that getting hold of some DnD monsters to be next to impossible through other sources.

As for what I'd like to see, well a Dark Sun collection would be nice

I just bought 5 Dreamblade "Mask Wearer"Dreamblade "Mask Wearer" minis that are pretty nice and might work very well.

For what it's worth, I actually asked WOTC about this at DDXP. Their answer was that it's not really so much a problem with the series or that they just like tokens more, but that the DDM market is not pulling in the revenue required to survive when combined with the ever decreasing cost-effectiveness of the plastics. They cut it now before it becomes a giant black hole in their bottom line (if it wasn't already).

3rd parties are not really any more likely to pick it up as they are going to suffer the same cost issues, likely worse so than WOTC does since WOTC has the benefit of piggybacking onto Hasbro's plastics division.

I cannot stand tokens or the crappy unpainted minis from the board games, so I'm very disappointed they're ending the D&D Minis line. I just got my tax refund in, so I spent probably about $150-200 over the past two weeks placing orders all over the place making sure I had enough to be able to run a game from here out before the secondary markets start raising all the prices.

Guess I'm going to have to go to Games Workshop, buy a bunch of bases from them, then learn how to cut Mage Knight minis off their bases and glue them on 1" bases since MK figures won't fit on a friggin' 1" grid map. That or hope that they roll proper pre-painted mini production into Heroscape and their bases stay with the new 1" base instead of the old 1.1" base that's JUST BARELY too big to use.

Exactly. I just spent a couple hundred as well, filling my collection with most of the cheap D&D minis that I don't have yet - even ones that I'm not sure I'll use, just to have them in case.

I then bought a handful of Mage Knight - wasn't too impressed with the sculpts; more cartoonish than I prefer. I bought about 50 Dreamblades minis. They looked really nice. The base is far too big, and the minis are slightly too big unless you use them for monsters, etc (which I will). Then went and bought a bunch of 25mm bases and am expecting to do a cut and paste job.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but Heroscape has been discontinued, as well.

I think it's rather dumb they had to cancel the minature line. The miniatures are the perfect way to simulate what goes on in the game.
It's dumb but it isn't. I can see the reasons why they'd want to discontinue it. There's too much product glut and most people only impulse buy the actual boosters and go to the secondary market for actual minis.

What I really hope they do is leave the minis alone for a while, then come out with non-random sets of prepaints. Use the same sculpts as the board games, but let us buy painted versions of the minis.

BTW, I sent an email to WotC customer service explaining my displeasure at the ending of the D&D Minis line and specifically pointing out that tokens and unpainted board game minis are not a substitute and got a very polite response that was basically "We understand, we're keeping track of the feedback from the community and thank you for sharing your opinion." So make sure to send them an email from the Contact Us link on their website telling them how much you liked the D&D Minis line and want it to continue in some form. But be clear about wanting prepaints so we don't get fed the board games line again.
