Can someone give me a brief resume of the features for the new Goliath? It's not just the "get big for 10 minutes", right?
*from the playtest

35' walking speed and get big is the base.
Subspecies gives you another thing proficiency times a day, based on a giant
Cloud teleports
Fire adds fire damage.
Hill knocks prone
Storm is reaction damage.

Keep in mind, species are a bit weaker than before, as background got a half-feat.

Uh, no, the 20 does not collapse further
yeah, my bad. The formula is correct, I just did not simplify it properly

(n! / (r! * (n - r)!) with n = 6 and r = 3 boils down to 6! / (3! * 3!) as I wrote, but that is 6 * 5 * 4 / 3!, or simply 5 * 4, so 20 combinations (and that / 3! takes care of the different combinations of the same attributes in different order…)

So now a 3ft gnome and a 8ft orc each with 18 strength and 18 dexterity have no physical mechanical differences.

That's dumb.
I agree, that is dumb, they should not all have the 3-18 range, some should be lower, others higher.

And it makes me sound like a grognard.
And I don't even think the community even wants there be no difference between small and medium creatures.
I am not sure what the community wants, I assume they do want everyone to fit into 3 to 18 and be equally capable

What they want IMO is simply to have their own PC (whoever they are) suffer no weaknesses of any kind compared to other PCs. They don't want everything equal, they want their experience to never be below anyone else's. It is personal.

I don't mind the shared 3-18 range.

But having small size or powerful build modified your carrying capacity and athletics/acrobatics checks should be a normal rule.

I miss cold resistance of the middle-old goliath already.
