D&D vs. Real Life

In D&D, my monk attacks at +20/+20/+20/+15/+10/+5 and does upwards of 23 damage on average per hit, combined with an AC in the upper 30's.

In real life, despite the fact that I'm a fifth-degree black belt, I screw up "Trapping the Well" with my partner and send us both crashing to the ground with our legs tangled up while all the lower-belts look at their teachers and say, "Is that a secret black-belt move?"

In D&D, I have a Fort save of +12, combining Fort Good, Divine Grace, and a naturally high Constitution.

In real life, I get sinus infections if I'm off my allergy medication for more tha a few days.

In D&D, my powerful Diplomacy checks convince everyone that my way is the proper way.

In real life, people totally ignore my witty repartee and continue to insist that their point of view is correct, all evidence to the contrary. Or, possibly, I'm wrong.

Actually, Intelligence is the dump stat.

In D&D I'm a suave, smooth talking rogue who's a lady's man.

In real life I'm a shy, nerdy guy who has never had a girlfriend. :heh:

In D&D gods are real and religion allows you to wield powerful magic.
In the real world, religious topics get your threads closed. ;)

In D&D you can die, since your cleric cohort can cast true resurrect.
In the real world, you shouldn't try that... ;)

In D&D intrigue is a joy, kingdom shattering plots and secretive cliques are my bread and butter.
In RL I consider my bosses' job to be poltical infighter for the deptarment and Im glad I don't have to deal with any of it.

In D&D the next quest is always ready next week.
In RL job hunting in this economy sucks.
