D&D vs. Real Life

In D&D you and your companions are always chosen for that new exciting job.

In real life you'll send dozens of resumes to different places and still won't get any job.

In D&D you slay the evil slavemaster.

In real life you work for the evil slavemaster.

(Sorry if no. 2 was done already, sounds like an obvious)

In D&D I can roll 20 several times a session.
In RL I can just about raise the enthusiasm to take 10.

In D&D my alignment can vary.
In RL I'm a sort-of angry Lawful Neutral.

In D&D I can remember several powerful spells at a time.
In RL I have trouble remembering my PIN.

In D&D I carry a crossbow, a rapier, and a bunch of supplies around with me everywhere I go. I am excellent with my weapons and frequently slay giant spider creatures...

In RL, I need to get help carrying up the groceries if they're too heavy, can't even lift a bow let alone have the stregnth to shoot it, and bugs freak me out!

Wow! Keep 'em coming!

In D&D, I wonder how to spend my skill points next level, and which feat-chain to follow.

In real life, I try to make my resume' look more impressive than it really is.

In D&D, when your familiar dies, you lose some experience and it takes awhile to get another.

In RL, when your pet dies, it hurts like hell and it takes awhile to get another. :( (Sorry, my cat of 13 years just passed away today)

Ouch. My dog's not doing well, so I have an idea of how that feels. You have my condolences.

/OT:

In D&D, warlords are mighty-thewed warriors, leading their legions to conquest and smiting their foes.

In real life, you gotta look out for the short ones. Napoleon won't be played by Arnie any time soon.

In D&D I can change the course of nations, be rewarded for doing good deeds, defeat the evil bad guys, get copious amounts of loot, and recover from death and massive damage.

In real life I am at the mercy of the world, being nice doesn't pay, I see horrible things everyday on the news and am ineffectual to stop it, I'm in debt, and I get every cold and flu and can't stand the sight of blood.
