D&D vs. Real Life

In D&D if you kill the evil emperor you might become the emperor

In Real life that only works if you're an Ally of the united states.

In D&D, I use magic to send messages over great distances, conjure Gods and Demons to give me information, monitor events from afar, and summon or create any substance I can imagine.

In RL, I just use the Internet.

In DnD I can guide my roommate to the elemental plane of water to free a frozen phoenix, send him to the shores of Celestia to seek the aid of solars, and cast him into Carceri until he has battled a slaad-gladiator and infiltrated a medusa's sadistic bordello.

In real life I can't get my roommate into the kitchen to rinse out dishes.

In real life, people say I'm impulsive and crazy, these same people say they'll never ride a vehicle I'm driving (but there's no accidents on my record)
You too huh? heh.

In D&D I can play a Bard...master of many tongues and able to do many different accents and different voices.

In real life my Gollum impression is too exact and my wife bans me from doing it. Especially when I reach from the back seat of the car and start stroking her shoulder while asking "precious" questions. heh.

In D&D I am the wizard. Master of spells, shaper of reality, I answer to no one.

In real life I live with 2 women and lose nearly every arguement I'm in.

In D&D I interact with a wide variety of life and assist in the slaughtering of a large percentage of taht which we encounter.

In real life I'm rather pacifistic and anti-military.

In D&D I can make snap decisions, dole them out to my party members, who will act instantly on the information, and we will make it through yet another encounter with everyone mostly intact.

In real life I can make snap decisions, dole them out to my 3 year old daughter, who will continue to do whatever it was she was doing, and the floor gets yet another stain left on it due to a "potty accident".

;)

In D&D, when I kill somebody, I search for money in every pocket and pouch, look in his mouth for gold teeth, check to see if anything is hidden in his boots, comb through his hair, and pat and squeeze over every inch of fabric until I'm positive I'm leaving nothing behind.

In real life, I just take his wallet.

Haha, kidding, of course. :)

In D&D you and your companions are always chosen for that new exciting job.

In real life you'll send dozens of resumes to different places and still won't get any job.

In D&D you slay the evil slavemaster.

In real life you work for the evil slavemaster.

Excellent! :p This is my life you are describing here... :p

Thank the gods, it's not just my 3 year old daughter that does this. Bless her heart.

In D&D, my character is a bit of a conniving, heartless bastard.

In real life...

...wait.

Oh.

I'll be back later.
