Well wtih Ft. Wayne being only 3 hours away and all (and it being such a cheap con) that's why I decided to just say "to heck with it" and go :D

I figure I'll get the answers I want straight from the designer's mouths, perhaps with NDA's filed they'll even be a little less tight-lipped than they usually are.

I hate NDA's, I think they're stupid. Tying an NDA to playing a game, that's ludicrous.

Personally, I think it would be in D&D's better interests to let people openly talk about their experiences, rather than bottle them up.

Stormy - I'm thinking that after the experiences of the marketing of 4e, they are going to play 5e as close to the vest as possible. Letting the midden hit the windmill because some disgruntled player posts a snippet from a test book is probably not worth it. However, having a couple of hundred (or thousand - I'm not sure how big DDXP is) people take a test drive is more than worth it for the direct feedback.

I think WOTC's in a position right now of being REALLY really, gunshy about letting the cat out of the bag.

NDAs are pretty vital. Some of them can get a bit ridiculous, but NDAs keep companies from shooting themselves in the foot. In any one game, a lot of ideas have to be discarded at some point, and knowledge of those discarded features can haunt a company for years.

I doubt they NDA can stop people from saying if they liked it, just why the didn't (or did).

So you'll have loads of cyrptic comments. "I liked it", "I hated it", etc...

I sincerely doubt they will go after leaks about people's impressions of the D&D Next Public Playtest at D&D XP. Not unless someone steals the materials and puts them up on line, I think that would prompt a response from WotC.

Hopefully there will be some clarification about what is discussable and what is not.

My two coppers,
