Inspired by this...

List coming along nicely, folks. I don't know if its the planning or the rough voice, but suddenly Valen is reminding me of a medieval Jack Bauer :lol:

Paths of Legend: The Movie

Starring

Kiefer Sutherland as Valen
Keira Knightley as Aleera
Summer Glau as Corath
Milla Jovavich as Azilyk

Also Starring

Famke Janssen as Lady Nineveh d'Anovia
Cate Blanchett as Lady Dawn de Guare

Assuming this were live action, of course. ;)

So, players, who would you pick to portray your characters on film. (Helfdan, feel free to change yours...the Jack Bauer comment just served as the inspiration for this.) :D

Okay, I'm in. Don't write me in quite yet, though, I just wanted to state my intent. And I won't tell you guys whether I'm on the good team or the bad team. Knowing is half the battle and I want every advantage I can get.

As for Estelle's live-action counterpart? Some lithe, fresh-faced brunette, I'd probably cast an unknown (mostly because I've no idea).

Hmmm, I don't know any actors with Aohdans unique physiology...
Oh wait... Paul Michael Levesque, of course. ;)

Alright, well here we go...

[sblock=For DM's eyes only]I'm not really going to divulge all the information quite yet, as I don't have it all fleshed out. But any information I can get on Thanyx, Reavers, and Piper could all help me adjust her personality and fill in a little bit more of her backstory. Oh, and The Serpent Queen, her name escapes me right now.

I wonder if I can do an sblock inside an sblock...

[sblock=sblock test]Test...[/sblock]

EDIT: Awesome.[/sblock]

For ethandrew...

[sblock=Secret stuff]For those getting this in their e-mail, this is for ethandrew's eyes only. ;)

[sblock=Secret stuff]Alrighty...

Thanyx isn't precisely evil in a "take-over the world, mwahahaha" kind of way. He is evil, but only insofar as he needs to be as lord of death and the undead. He mainly keeps himself and his charges out of the world's way and creates evil undead as a form of punishment (intelligent undead in this world suffer from Thanyx's Curse, which means their existence is tortured by unending pain, driving most insane...Thanyx is an enemy of willful undead, ie, those who become undead willingly, like Liches, with the single exception of Necropolitans).

The Reavers are Thanyx's enforcers, mortal beings who dwell in the Necropolis and venture out into the world hunting down willfull undead and those who seek to unnaturally extend their lives. The most well known Reavers are half-orc barbarians who wear black leather armor and wield scythes. Their barbarian rage is unusual because unlike orcs or Drukkar tribesmen, their rage is one of quiet, unblinking, certain death. The Reavers also have quite a few other character types in their ranks, however, including clerics of Thanyx, a few necromancers, assassins, and others.

Piper is a patron of outcasts, having essentially stolen the spot among the first Ten deities reserved for the Gith. He is rumored to be a handsome half-elven bard missing a hand and an eye. Rumor has it that he wielded the Hand and Eye of Vecna during the Shadow War and used those artifacts to end the war, as well as banish Vecna himself to the other side of the Shadow Barrier. Piper is a master manipulator with plots within plots within plots all leading up to some grand scheme that only he knows all the details of.

Azilyk, the Serpent Queen, is as old as the world and possibly older. She is an immortal being, seemingly unkillable. She is currently without a body of her own, but has several mortal clones, whose bodies she can make her own, with the Dagger of Souls. The identity of these clones is mostly unknown, though Aleera is known to be one. These clones have their own will and identity...at least until Azilyk takes them.[/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=DM Eyes Only!]
[sblock=Seriously, you shouldn't be looking]How does Thanyx and his followers feel about Azilyk? Is there animosity afoot or apathy? Basically would someone with strong ties to Thanyx be for or against the rise or fall of Azilyk? I would want Estelle to have her reasons behind whatever she does, not merely to do things to shake things up.

No matter how it turns out, you've left me an amazing backstory/way back in to the game. I'm excited.[/sblock][/sblock][/sblock]

For ethandrew...

[sblock]Don't look[sblock]I'm warning you[sblock]I'll give you negative levels because I'm an evil DM ;)[sblock]Alrighty...

Azilyk is just about everyone's enemy, Thanyx included. She is this setting's ultimate evil.

That said, Thanyx won't directly act against her due to a lingering debt from the world that existed before this one. Thanyx was a devout servant of Orcus in the old world, but betrayed his master at the last possible moment during the creation of this world, imprisoning Orcus in the shadowstone obelisk in Silvergard.

Orcus fathered the mortal form of Azilyk in the old world and their goals often coincide.[/sblock][/sblock][/sblock][/sblock]
