"Kneeler" looked at Almayce, then at Ironwolf, then at Almayce again. He seemed unsure of whether to speak.[sblock=Almayce]"That one wants me to answer him...but that one threatened to gag me...???"[/sblock]Xael said:"So how far do you think your friends would have followed him, since they definetly didn't seem like wanting to let him go?"
The soldier paused again, emotions playing over his face. Finally, he spoke, clearly exasperated: "Anything bad? What do you consider bad? We're here on a mission of mercy, and you attack without showing your standard, and call me a prisoner of war? What--what are you on about? I don't know who you are or what you want, or whether I should tell you the truth, lie to you, or stand on my head! Ask me a question I can make some sense of, or I'll hold my tongue and you can hold yours!"[sblock=Almayce]Some of what you are picking up is non-verbal. It's not so much whether or not he thinks he'll be believed, as whether he thinks you're on the level. You can feel waves of frustration run over this man...one of his thoughts is "if my mates weren't here, I'd run myself on their blades just to have an end to it". That's hardly his dominant thought, and he's nowhere near to doing anything like that, but it should give a taste of his frustration and confusion.Xael said:"And if you're that worried about us not believing you, I can cast a spell tomorrow that will prevent you from lying. After that I'd say we can think about releasing you if you manage to convince us that you and your friends aren't up to anything bad."
ajanders said:"Is there any information you want out of these people before you gag them? They'll be even less helpful then."
Patlin said:"No, they're a complete waste of our time. They don't know anything usefull, and wouldn't tell us if they did."
He begins looking for a dirty sock in his pack.
