Kneeler shugged. "I don't know what it is, but it's real bad. It's some kind of sickness." His answer came quickly, before Almayce's spell took full effect. A few moments after the soldier fell silent, Almayce started picking up some moderately vague thoughts, mostly along the lines of "Who are these guys?", "I hope they will ransom us", a general fear based on the thought that "The Company won't ransom a corporal and two privates", and "What do these guys want?". The soldier's thoughts didn't linger on Duvik, and the reason seemed clear to Almayce: Duvik was a source of great fear and revulsion.Xael said:"I'd like you to give us a brief explanation of what is going on in Duvik.", he finishes calmly, giving no explanation of his spellcasting.
The soldier seemed surprised. "You mean you don't know?", he asked, incredulous. "Just who are you then, anyway? What army do you represent?"[sblock=Almayce: ]Reading thoughts, you get stuff along the lines of, "They can't be bandits, mercenaries, or locals", "If they are, then they're really stupid", "I don't know how much I can trust them", and "I can't tell them anything if I can't trust them...even if they let me go, I'll be punished later".[/sblock]Xael said:"Tell me more about this sickness or whatever it is. Who's infected, what does it do and when did it start? Oh, and when did you arrive at Duvik and why?"
