D1: Ashin's Commission (El Jefe judging)

"These soldiers sound like more trouble than they're worth taking. Walking dead eh. mmm. Hulgyr will chop them up!" Hulgyr says with a stupid grin on his face. "Where are these walking corpses? Which direction?"

"Speaking of walking dead. Please remember. Smash the bone and cut the sinew. So use maces and blunt objects against skeletons and slashing swords and axes against zombies."

The two shepherds listen to Michael's story.

Welsh shrugs. "That may well be true. My grandpapi always said 'the one that got away grows the fastest." But the tone and look expression suggest they don't really believe it.

Ironwolf coughs a bit.

"Are these creatures reported to be in a particular area? Do you know where they could be found?"

Borland looks over to Ironwolf.

"They is in the mountains like, from what I gather. 'Round Duvik way seems like. Soldiers have a camp on the Duvik road."

Turning to the shepards she says, "You say that this Samnel escaped their grasp, did he say how he did it?"

"Slipped out at night. Soldiers have a couple of posts arund the town, to watch for comings and goings like. But Samnel's bit of a rogue. Good at sneaking around and the like. Not a bad man, just hard to find if he don't want to be. "

"Can't manage sheep for crap though," adds Welsh. Borland nods in agreement.

Michael smiles beatifically.
Consensus is being built. A sense of community is being fostered. All he needs to do is keep his mouth shut now.
Once things wind down he can offer a blessing and make sure they get safely on their way.

(OOC: Michael will support anybody's social checks with an aid another action...unless they're something evil like charming the sheperds or threatening them with death.)

Borland scratches his head.

"Not really sure. As I heard it, they got a camp a little ways out of town where they is collecting anyone who comes down from the mountains. Soldiers seem to be prowling the area from Kinthriver to the mountains, to stop anyone slipping through it seems like. But the commander seems to have set up in the inn in Kinthriver. Nice food there. Better than camp food for sure."

"Samnel said they was waiting for something," interjects Welsh, "but didn't say what like."

Hulgyr decides that these folk don't share the manners of the locals he met earlier and tries to get some information from them: "You know whose soldiers they be? Keltons? An what do they do with those people the collect?"

ooc: following Zaeryl's hint about smashing bone, Hulgyr collects a nice piece of wood which he can use as a club. If he finds an exceptional big and nice piece, he will use that as a greatclub, at DM's discretion.

Welsh looks at Hulgyr.

"The soldiers be from Fallon. We don't know what goes on inside the camp, people come in, none come out so far. There is a high wall around the camp, and a tower. Like a fort, sort they make during war.

"There be a few priest as well'" Borland adds, "Coming and going. From what I heard that is. Some say they is possessed. The people. Not the priests. Though they might be. Just no one is saying they is. If you get my meaning."

The two shepherds shrug.

"Grundar so I's heard."

"Really, I heard twas Phyrah."

The two shepherds look at the adventurers and shrug once more.
