D1: Ashin's Commission (El Jefe judging)

--- THE BAINLUNDER HILLS ---

Hulgyr slows to a walkng pace and the rest of the group catch up with the orc in about 100 yards. That leaves them about 150 or so yards from the ants, which are now clearly visible. There are two around the carcass of a deer. A third appears, about 50 feet to right of the carcass as the party approaches.

Mikal pulls up along side the rest.

"The horses don't like tha' smell of ants. Once they get wind of them, they will get difficult to handle.

"That one," he adds, indicating the one off to the right, "Is a warrior. Bigger jaws. Bulkier. Got tha stinger like master Zaeryl says. They are are the dangerous ones. Especially in numbers. But the workers will get stuck in in a fight. Pin down the opponents so as the warriors can sting them.

"It's got wind of us now. See. It'll start moving in if we gets much closer."

"Hulgyr, remember why we came here."
Michael's voice is rock steady as he holds his horse's nostrils closed.
"Remember Duvik. Cut one block at a time, Hulgyr, or we get nothing done."

Michael looks appealingly over at Ironwolf, hoping for moral support.
"Leave them be for now, Hulgyr. We have other things to focus on."

"Admittedly, the ants are in our way, and it is unclear if we would able to successfully skirt them--plus the fact that the mortal here knows their combat tactics indicates that he must have seen them on a killing rampage before. Since we are currently at full capacity, there is probably no harm in taking down the ants--I would not, however, use up crucial limited resources like Hulgyr's battle fury against them, just in case. Besides which, they look like they would have trouble stinging a heavily armoured opponent."

"I agree, Hulgyr. The boy says they've been here for years without becoming a problem... we should handle the current problem first. If you feel you need to attack the ants, though, I'll help... we should dismount, prepare, and then march in as a unit."

"We aren't here to kill ants, Zaeryl. Back off and leave them alone."
Michael grips the horses nostrils harder as it begins to shy nervously.

"Wouldn't it be ironic, though, if the ants actually were the problem and it became exaggerated to demons as it traveled? Regardless, we agree that the main problem should come first before the ants. However, we also think that after the main problem is solved, if it didn't involve the ants, we should still return and eliminate the ants on the way to those undead in the cave."

"We wasted enought time in the cavern already, so we probably should try to get past the ants for now.", Almayce says.

OOC: Well, err... I bought this thing called World of Warcraft about two weeks ago... *End of sad excuse* I'll try to get my act together, I've been neglecting all my games in ENWorld for a while now. I've degenerated to only reading threads and thinking that I'll post "soon". Sorry.

Hulgyr turns his head left and right and back agaoin as each member of the party states thier arguments. After a few lines it becomes all blurry for him and he really can't decide what the best course of action is by himself... confused and somewhat defeated he concludes:
"But he said... They do look dangerous... And the villages.. I guess we can handle them on the way back... But it won't take that much time.. I don't know.. You guys decide..."
He gets a bit grumpy after that and his head hangs slightly lower. He murmles to himself "We still oughta do the right thing, that's what father would have said. I'll get em later.. and the stupid walking corpses too. Stupid ants."

Hulgyr will go with whatever plan the rest of the party decides on. He will be grumpy for the rest of the day if he doesn't get to rid the ants.

"Yes, we'll get them later. But since Mikal said they've been here a long time, it is unlikely that they will cause much harm before we return, statistically speaking. Let us first tend to the supposed demonic infestation and hit the ants and the undead on the way back."
