The Stonepike Mountains
The soldier who had the butt of his spear on the ground, let's call him Private Stander, replied, "Well, that would be Captain Kellogg. But if you're going to Duvik, the Lieutenant would probably want to talk to you. Follow me." He started to walk up the path, in the direction that the party was headed, until he saw that his companions were giving him looks that questioned his sanity.
The soldier with the cloak in one hand and his spear in the other, let's call him Private Kneeler, paid more attention to Ironwolf. "Pet rock? You mean this thing is yours?" Then recovering quickly, he added, "Hey! You saw me pick it up! You're just trying to take it from me!" Perhaps he was used to losing in the camp card games.
The soldier who had both hands on his spear, let's call him Private Squatter, looked around nervously, and gave Private Stander the eye when he made ready to leave, but said nothing.
Round 2:
- Hulgyr and Zaeryl did pretty much nothing. But they were ready to do something!
- Michael tried to pry military secrets from the soldiers, with some success.
- One of the soldiers decided to take the party to a closer leader rather than send them to a more distant, but superior, leader.
- Another soldier decided that Ironwolf was trying to con him.
