d20 Future Supplements?

I'm working on a futuristic setting for D20 Modern (exactly how much, if any, of the d20 Future material gets used will depend on what I find when I get my hands on a copy).

But I'm *far* from a professional and it'll likely be a while before I have anything ready. If the finished product looks to be worth it I might consider selling it online, otherwise I'll just make what I have available for download somewhere. The project is more 'for me' than 'for profit' anyway. I have no illusions of becoming a real publisher.

Ok, so Moridin said that his MEG d20 Future supplement is dead in the water (which sucks); does anyone know of any other intended supplements from WoTC or other publishers for d20 Future?

Prior to the thread on MEGs book - I didn't even know ANY Future supplements were in the works yet.

Thanks!

Why not convert your (or kiln's) Cyberpunk settting book from OGL Cybernet to d20 Future? I mean, it probably makes sense, as I don't think many people bought OGL Cybernet, and secondly, it's not all that good (well, the cyberstuff is, but that's about it). Or at least, dual stat it.

We are very happy that Mongoose Publishing has given us the license to use their OGL Cybernet book to work with. It's a great book! As for using the D20 Future rules, I am not quite sure if it is "within the licensing agreement" to dual stat a book like that. I have never seen it done before.

We'll no doubt do some d20 future supplements (mostly a 2nd edition of Blood and Space), but I'm not sure how well d20 future dependant books will fare (especially in print).

We would have preferred it to be a new core book, so customers wouldn’t need 2 books to use our sci-fi supplements.

As Chris sort of pointed out, it often makes more sense to just use the OGL content you want from d20 future (or make your own rules), and only require d20 modern.

Obviously, not having seen d20 Future, I can't say for sure, but from seeing the preview, it seems like d20 Future pretty much covers most of what B&S does. Classes for space careers, rules on spaceships.

I'll be producing an entire series of support material for D20 Future through Ronin Arts beginning mid-August. This material will include both rules expansions usable in any SF setting and optional information on a specific setting.

Details will be announced shortly before GenCon, including a schedule of the first few releases in the series.

We haven't seen it yet either. However, once we do, I am confident there will be room for a detailed supplement.

You could say d20 Modern covered martial arts and martial arts classes, however there was still room there for a couple of books people really liked. I think it will be the same here.

Yes it will be covered, but I also think there will be room for one or more expansions to their coverage.

Ah, so it won't just be Blood & Space updated for d20 Future...

Well, we'll have to agree to disagree on the quality of OGL Cybernet, but I do think it makes sense to dual stat your book, if all possible - I mean, while the people buying d20 Future will be a subset of those who own d20 Modern, they will probably be a lot larger than those that have OGL Cybernet.

I know from the d20 end, dual statting is fine. From what I've seen of the Cybernet agreement (the one of the Mongoose web page), it is less stringent than the d20 license - as long as you don't include explicit character generation instructions (ie, how to roll attributes and such), so should co-exist okay. (The d20 license also prevents character generation, but also things like nudity and such that Mongoose doesn't care about).
