d20 Future Supplements?

Ronin Arts will be releasing the Fourth Millennium line of D20 Future products, with the first release, Fourth Millennium Player's Guide coming out in PDF form as soon as the new OGC is added to the Modern SRD. Although the line will include lots of setting material, almost all of it will be perfectly usable in other D20 Future settings, especially those with a "posthuman space opera" bent.

Well, that's interesting news. what PL are we looking at here?

It's hard to map it on to the D20 Future PL system perfectly, since Fourth Millennium uses its own technological progression. Up to about PL6, the standard system fits well enough, except that there's no gravity control. After that, it gets trickier, as there are elements of PL7 and PL8 tech in certain areas, along with other weirder stuff that D20 Future doesn't even discuss.

Until the first releases are out, I suppose the easiest way to describe Fourth Millennium's PL is to say 6+ with a strong emphasis on the +.

Hmmm. I'm planning on running a pretty straight PL7 game, with lots of left over PL8 material...

So do you think the book will be useful?

The Fourth Millennium Player's Guide is an overview of the setting as a whole, with notes on how to use standard D20 Future rules and equipment with it. It does include new material, in the form of feats and advanced classes primarily. However, I'd think, if you already have your own setting, you'd be better served to wait for some of the follow-up supplements, like the various technology guides and the Future Warrior sub-line of weaponry and vehicles rules.

I think it's safe to say Star Ace will have slightly similar issues as Space Opera tech doesn't always follow nice, logical progressions. :)

Just a head's up to anyone interested

Sleep Dep Creations is currently in the design phase with 4 products solely dedicated to D20 Modern/Future - 2 of them are even close to the playtest phase. :D

However, we're a small, just starting out company, so I guess this would be our "big annoucement". (In other words, be gentle - its our first time.)

Anyways, here's a broad - and vague - look at what we're working on:

Sci-Fi Campaign Setting - Summer 2005: The Horde is coming, and trust me, its not what you're probably thinking. This product might become our flagship, but at the least - it will be well-supported with follow-up material, regardless on how it does. This will require the D20 Modern and D20 Future books/SRD however.

D20 Modern Adventure Path - take your characters from 1st to 20th level in this well-researched campaign, full of unexpected twists. If you don't like to think/problem-solve, this won't be for you. This will require the D20 Modern book/SRD and can be considered conspiracy-oriented with some Sci-Fi elements.

Power Armor Tool Kit - Not happy with D20 Future's lack of available Power Armor? Don't feel like running around in 25'+ tall Mechas? Why not build your own from the ground up? You'll be able to with this product, the first in a line of Tool Kits that will be available from us. There is a possibility of Power Armor-related feats, talents, advanced classes/prestige classes, etc in the main product. If we cut it due to size, it will be offered as a free web enhancement on our site. Currently undergoing a rewrite and will not be released until after the D20 Future SRD is made public. May require D20 Modern and D20 Future books/SRD, though this is still to be determined.

Autumn of Terror - While this isn't really D20 Future material, this Victorian-age product may include elements of Sci Fi. Regardless, this will be another, well-researched product that is more about problem solving than hack-n-slashing. It will require D20 Modern book/SRD to use.

That's about it folks. Hope you've enjoyed reading this (long) message and I apologize if I hijacked the thread in any way - or if I toed the line on any standing rules.

Anyways, thanks for the time,

Peterson

I'd like to encourage you to use d20 Future gadgets. I think they're a good foundation to build this sort oft hing on, and then we'll all be on the same page, rather than using different systems.

Do you guys have a website yet?

Salcor

Uh, Salcor, who exactly did you mean by you guys?

If it's us at Sleep Dep Creations, the answer then is yes and no. Yes, we have an "employees only" site currently. No, we do not have a "public face" yet - we are still designing what we want and how best to do it.

Thanks,

Peterson

Just a quick reminder that RPGOBjects' next book, the gadgets book Blood and Circuits will be d20 Modern and d20 Future compatible, and that the book after that will be a d20 Future setting.
